Truly a home away from home. It was equipted with most things we needed. Could have used bigger bowls and larger glass glasses. We had a one bedroom with the bedroom at the back facing the park, the front room facing the swimming pool giving us morning sun in the bedroom and afternoon sun in the living room.

Having the bedroom patio door and front door open created a nice breeze keeping the place cool. We could dry out swim suites out off the bedroom patio.

This unit had its own private Wifi, make sure you ask what the password is before you get there, we had to call them a couple of times to get it. Also double check the lock box pass word for the key to get in. The number on our info sheet was wrong. Both enquiries were handled quickly. It has had two tvs which we didn't actually use much.

The roosters were noisy in the morning but with the sound of the breeze and ocean it wasn't that noticeable.

We were walking distance to a snorkle and beginner surf beach near the Beachhouse Restaurant.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which was very quiet with a great view out the bedroom of the beach and Pri...

We stayed in unit 235 for 7 days - our first trip to this island. We thought the location was great! Baby beach was only a few blocks away (we went daily!), the shopping village of both Kukui'ula and Poipu Village are within walking distance for restaurants, dining and Starbucks. Koloa Town is only a 3 minute drive. The condo itself was well equipped with everything we needed. It would be great if they installed wireless internet though, and if they perhaps had a little book indicating where some of the staples are such as a grocery store, starbucks, etc. I think it would better help new visitors get an idea of just where they are as we had to just map and figure it out on our own - though I suppose there is nothing wrong with that either - just a suggestion!
We enjoyed staying on the park side of the condo as the view to the ocean was beautiful. Yes, the chickens were always chattering but it didn't bother us at all.
The BBQ area on the grounds is also great - we used it several times.
We'd definitely stay here again and recommend it! It's small, but we didn't spend that much time indoors of course, and whenever we did, it had everything we needed! They even included a beach umbrella, boogie boards etc - we thought that was a great touch.

Room Tip: If the noise of roosters would wake you up, then the park side of the condo building isn't a goo...

We stayed in unit 115 at Prince Kuhio. It was a ground floor unit with a nice view of the park and the ocean in the distance. The condo was nicely furnished and well equipped. It was close to the beach, attractions and restaurants. Sitting on the beach and watching the sunset each night was so enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well. The roosters woke you up early but in a beautiful setting like this it was good to get up, enjoy the delicious Kauai coffee and get on the beach early!

We rented through VRBO which we use frequently. We stayed here for our second week because we wanted to be close to the good snorkeling beaches. Our place had an updated kitchen and a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. The place was nicely furnished with a California King bed. It does not have ac but that is not needed as we always had a nice breeze through the unit which made it very comfortable. We would stay again.

As an end unit furthest from Lawai Road, Prince Kuhio 237 could not have been more quiet or relaxing (with the exception of the daily morning rooster wake-up calls--which can't be helped on Kauai!). To combat that, we cranked the A/C, which blocked much of the noise, but I found myself never wanting to sleep in with all of the fun things to do on the island. That said, I remained on Pacific Standard Time during our trip, but my husband did not. Even though the PK 237 is a studio unit, it was easy to putter around in the early morning without disturbing him.

The owners have thought of everything to make sure that we have been comfortable and happy, including providing lots of good advice in their communications before our arrival on-island. The bed is soft and wonderful, and we have cooked breakfast every morning, with the addition of plenty of Hawaiian coffee and fruit juice. We then dined on the deck overlooking Prince Kuhio Park, laughing at all of the chickens and planning our day.

In addition to a kitchen that is well-stocked with a coffee maker, microwave, and full cooking gear, there are plenty of bath towels and paper products, as well thick beach towels and beach chairs to use during our stay. The owners have provided plenty of guide books and cds in the unit, as well as a television stored in an armoire (which is nice to have when you're totally worn out from your day but not yet ready to sleep).

You can see a beach from the deck, as well as the sunrise, and we were able to watch a fabulous lightning show from our room just a couple of nights ago. Poipu is a lovely location, and it's easy to get anywhere else on the island from here, including any number of beautiful swimming, snorkeling, and surfing beaches. There is a great snorkeling beach directly across from the park within very easy walking distance. We only ate out a couple of times (as we usually barbecued with family at Poipu Beach), but there are many close by. Grocery stores are a little further away, but there is a good one just north in Koloa, and you can find larger ones as you head east or west.

My husband and I are not particularly interested in staying at "resorts," and this was perfect: VERY nice but well-priced and not even remotely pretentious. With all of the praise that we are giving this place, we can only hope the PK 237 is available the next time we plan to visit Kauai!

Mahalo for a lovely experience. We cannot wait to return!

After spending four nights on the North Shore, my husband and I moved south to Poipu, where we spent five wonderful nights in Unit 213 at the Prince Kuhio Condos. The unit and location were perfect in every way and left us wanting for nothing. Located across and just down the street from the Beach House Restaurant and amazing Lawai Beach, the location could not be more ideal. And the flow-through ventilation provided when the living room and bedroom windows are open is better than anything an air conditioning system could provide!

My husband summed up Unit 213 the best by stating “it’s just like home; only spotless!” The unit is incredible and beautifully appointed with original watercolors painted by the owner, comfortable living room furniture, lovely decorations, a flat screen television, tile flooring throughout, and thoughtful touches including reading material. Extra special touches included a reusable bag to hold groceries, etc, and a small, take-home ice bag that included two bottles of water, a packet of coffee, and several bags of macadamia nuts. And the unit really was spotless – Kauai Vacation Rental does an excellent job managing this unit!

The full kitchen has EVERYTHING one could possibly need – lots of pots and pans, bake ware, plates and silverware, colanders, etc….; this unit is truly a home. Located adjacent to the kitchen is a butler’s pantry, with more cupboards and storage space and a closet absolutely brimming with everything you need for a day at the beach, including multiple beach chairs, ice chests, snorkel gear, etc.

The spacious bedroom includes a great king bed, roomy dresser, television, tons of closet space, and a wall full of windows and a sliding glass door leading to the lanai. Views from the window include the Prince Kuhio park and Prince Kuhio Beach; the unit provides an excellent beach view from the bedroom.

The bathroom is accessible from the bedroom and includes a separate vanity area, great lighting, and a separate water closet with a shower. The unit also includes a washer and dryer, which we did not use but certainly would during a longer stay.

The grounds are lovely, with beautiful landscaping and flowering plants, and includes an inviting swimming pool, which we did not use. We will definitely stay in this unit again on our next visit to Kauai.
