“Awesome place to stay in Poipu - unit 232 was exceptional”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We just stayed in unit 232 at Whalers Cove for 4 nights. The setting is amazing, right on the water next to Koa Landing. We did a couple of dives off Koa Landing, so the location was epic. The grounds were quite nice, and we even used their barbecues one night to cook up some fresh steak and fish.
The unit was stunning, included marble countertops, travertine flooring, recessed lighting throughout (controlled by a pretty slick control system). I'm an engineer and didn't quite figure it all out, but I love the idea. Wish I could talk to the owner at some point, because I love what he did with the place. I would strongly recommend anyone who is staying out in Poipu to say goodbye to the resorts, and stay in a nice quite getaway like this.

Thanks Maryanne!!!

We stayed at Whaler's Cove for one week in May 2014 in Condo 117. To say that we had a wonderful time would be an understatement. The staff, the accommodations and the location were perfect for us. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time and the condo is right next to the pool. It was beautifully decorated with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. Thank you so much to Whaler's Cove and to the Buehler's.

Amy

This was our first time to stay at the Whalers Cove. During our morning walks in previous stays, every time we past the Whalers we said we have to stay there someday. We are so glad we did. Unit 223 was perfect due to the fact that it is an end unit, providing additional windows on the side of the bedroom which allow better air flow. The view is incredible too! The unit was decorated and appointed nicely. (the only thing we recommend would be 2 beach chairs) The place is quiet and clean. Good location, close to stores and beaches within walking distance. We had a trip planned to Maui for this October but cancelled it and are coming back to Kauai instead and staying in 223!
Oh and the turtles are all over the place, along with a beautiful Hawaiian Monk Seal that is pregnant and due any day. She swam into the cove everyday to rest, and watching her was wonderful.

We loved this location and facility!

My kids especially loved the pool, when we needed to relax and not venture out on the island.

Although I'm not a fan of cooking while on vacation, with food prices and 6 of us traveling, it was a necessity. The kitchen space was perfect for all of our meals in.

We also loved watching the sea turtles sun bathe on the large rocks, right there on the far west end of the parking lot.

Perfect location and also within walking distance to an amazing beach. Head East on Hoona Road and there is beach access to the beautiful sunsets and sea combing for sea glass.

Mahalo and enjoy!

This was a really nice condo. Peaceful, decorated very nicely. Close to the pool. We vacationed with our daughter 11 and two adults. Very spacious. It had beach chairs, pool towels. The bathrooms are done very well. We will come back again. We are from Walla Walla Washington. We hiked, swam, went to the beach. Great service from the condo.. The ocean air and waves at night helped us get into the vacation on the first day and and decompress...

Room Tip: This room is right on the ocean and close to the pool. We would recommend 117. Easy to get our lug...

Breathtaking views from the balcony over looking the ocean, unbelievable sunsets every night, whales breaching in the ocean, sounds of the ocean to fall asleep to every night.... Unbelievable!!! We stayed in room 122 which was Immaculately clean, Beautifully decorated and So,So Comfortable for both my Mother and myself. Cannot wait to return!

We've stayed her twice now. The problem is that there is a mix of residences and vacation rentals. The residents of the property go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome. The staff try, but ultimately the residents seem to have the final say. Do not stay here if you have young children...you get bad looks if they make a peep. Also, no full maid service. We have family in Kauai and visit 3x a year minimum. We won't be coming back here. There are house rentals for the same amount of a room here and less worry about what a resident will complain about.
