Nihilani at Princeville

Beautiful vacation rental with all the extras like bikes, snorkel equipment, surf equipment, beach towels. Two car garage, two bedroon, two bath and two grills at the pool.
Well appointed interior and Lanai (patio) with very comfortable furniture, has all modern high end GE Profile appliances and kitchen items to cook you meals if you wish.
Our unit was privately owned (Nihilani Tropical Villa 1A) and was very clean. Pool side so afternoon pool trips were very easy as with the grills.
When we return to Kauai we will stay at this unit if available.

The reviews regarding any noise at the pool are true. Very upsetting to the kids that get scolded for simply laughing. Spent as much time at the beach as possible to avoid grumpy grumpy site manager. Quiet hours start at 6pm but we got yelled at 4pm because they start enforcing whenever they want. I rate this place a zero for making us feel like we have to walk on eggshells on our vacation. Oh yeah you only have certain hours you can to throw out your trash and recycling and you cannot park in visitor parking. That one threw me. Aren't I a visitor?? What a crock.

Beautiful new, and decorator furnished units, but you could be just about anywhere in Southern California. There is a constant flow of traffic, which isn't particularly loud, but drowns out the sounds of any birds that might be out there. It just doesn't feel like Hawaii, more like a new community in Orange County. The pool, however, is lovely and the one reminder that you are in Hawaii. The pool is 3 to 4 feet deep which is excellent for little swimmers, with a warmer 6 inch deep pool above the waterfall, so good for heavily supervised smaller babies that might just want to sit (very easy to get near the edge of the falls) with some shade. Our rental is lovely, but we won't be coming back, since it lacks the escape feeling...it feels too much like a model home that could be almost anywhere there is a golf course. We want our vacation to feel like we are in Hawaii.

If you travel with kids, especially the small ones, these immaculate units can make typically clean families worry about not being clean enough. There are so many suggestions and warnings that we found it hard to relax and actually live in the unit. There are fines for everything...being too loud, misplacing the flashlight, the keys, using too much air conditioning, not washing your towels before you leave (maybe, if they think you required too much laundry), not powering down the WiFi when you leave.... So if there is a watermark on a table that was already there, will they fine you since you probably did it because you had a kid in the house that dropped a cheerio someplace? The good news is that since you are afraid to sit on the suede couch or chairs, you will spend all day out of the unit enjoying the well stocked beach gear. Our unit had everything we needed and then some. The two car garage was excellent and provided a good spot to tidy up before entering the home. Well stocked kitchen too.

I gave my daughters a four day stay at unit 11C at Nihilani at Princeville. We were delighted with this unit. It is spacious and quiet and perfect for a family wanting a "home away from home" for vacation. The home was furnished to the last detail with everything we needed to care for our personal needs as well as recreational needs. We especially enjoyed the three separate bedrooms and bathrooms for each one to give us the privacy and space needed to be "away" from each other when we weren't enjoying time together. I would highly recommend this unit for a family that enjoys time together watching movies, playing games, etc. while exploring the beautiful island of Kauai during the day.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise in general, although noise was not a problem at all.

We REALLY enjoyed our stay at 24C. The condo was stacked with everything we could possible need. And the layout and design is beautiful. We loved every minute of our vacation in Kauai.

We stayed at a condo in the Nihilani Complex in March 2009, I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time! We rented through a private owner, their website is www.nihilanikauai.com. I can't remember the condo number, it might have been 5C....See their site for more information and pictures.

They have a ground floor two bedroom unit with a nice layout and great finishings. The furniture and décor was well selected and cared for, and the unit was clean and in good shape. The living room had a ground floor lanai which overlooked the mountains. There was a fairly busy street between us and the mountains, but the sound and traffic actually was not bothersome. The unit was a fair walk to the pool and bbq area, however at the time we stayed there they provided a golf cart free of charge which was kept in the garage. It was very handy to hop in and get over to the pool, or to run over and cook up some meat on the bbq. Pool area is tropical and fabulous, our only complaint was the pool was not heated and it was too cold that time of year to enjoy. I only went in once for five minutes! Brrrr….

The garage was also equipped with your typical beach supplies as well as snorkel gear. The unit owners were friendly and easily reachable, the transactions went smooth and their policies/paperwork top notch (they run a good business). We spoke with some other visitors in the complex, turns out there are many rental units as well as residents. Look around on vrbo.com, there are lots of units listed there as well, all for competitive pricing. I would recommend this unit/complex to families or couples or seniors; appropriate for everyone. There’s no ocean view, but we didn’t mind as we spent our days down in Hanalei Bay or other beaches. We’ve been to Kauai three time and always stayed in Princeville area, I find it to be the most beautiful. If you have any questions, feel free to message me! I have also written reviews on Alii Kai 1 and Villas of Kamalii.

We really enjoyed our stay in 24C. It is set up well. We stayed there with my parents and our two kids. The 6 of us had lots of space and the bedroom set ups are nicely done. The location is close to everything on the North side of the island and not bad to the rest of the island. The unit could use some bikes and maybe some boogies boards but other than that everything is provided.
The A/C is great for night time sleeping. It allows you to sleep in without the roosters waking you up. We didn't use it during the day just opened the windows.

Room Tip: Choose 24C
