“A Memorable Honeymoon!”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We spent our honeymoon at the St. Regis and it was BEAUTIFUL! Our flight arrived late to Kauai Airport, by the time we got to the St. Regis it was late. We were immediately impressed that the Valet and Bellhop knew our names and asked us how our flights were. They got our bags out of our rental car and we went to check in. At check in they were so friendly and professional. Getting to our room was very easy and when we arrived we were greeted with rose pedals on the bed, cold champagne and chocolate covered strawberries which a Special Thanks has to go to our concierge Scott Bacon who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect and providing me a list of things to do while on the Island!. During our stay the beach was AMAZING and breakfast at Makana Terrace was impeccable the views are outstanding and you can get lucky and see some whales in the distance. Overall my wife and I will definitely be going back and Highly Recommend to anyone who wants to go to just do it!

Room Tip: Our Room looking over hanalei bay was great!

Spent our anniversary at St. Regis. It's a BEAUTIFUL setting, hotel lobby, room with great amenities. I asked for a room closer to the lobby as we are older and they accommodated us. We were met with necklaces and "Aloha" upon arrival. But it is super-expensive (which we knew) and you expect super service, food, etc. Our biggest disappointment was our dinner...........only tried it one night...after our first experience. Husband ordered steak and lobster..........not rare like he asked for. Looked like two hockey pucks and a large sized shrimp. No butter, no lemon........he even went searching for the server to bring some. My beet salad was just ok. We later went to a local restaurant and got high quality food, so it is possible on the island.
Hotel was gracious enough to send a bottle of champagne to our room. I thanked them "profusely", but said we were not drinkers and they could pick it up. They said they would send a fruit basket. OK, they didn't HAVE to do anything, but the champagne stayed in our room, no pick-up and no fruit! This is NOT five star service. We frequented the spa which is lovely. We had concurrent pedi for around $270 with tax, tip. I knew this "going in" and expected something really special. The gals were nice, but this was not as luxurious as I thought or I've experienced before. The pupus and drinks at the St.Regis bar were great. The view ethereal. There was nothing "wrong" with the hotel but I would like to get what I pay for. I would imagine the "job Pool" they have to pick from is pretty laid back. We have traveled to 35 countries and stayed in B&B as well as 5 Star hotels in Dubai and Oman, the ends of the earth! To complete our anniversary we stayed at a another Starwood Hotel called W in Hollywood. St. Regis could take lessons from W. Their service was devine!

I have a tendency to over research WHERE we're going to stay when we go on vacation. I review Trip Advisor, and ask every friend under the Sun for their advice. Rightfully so when you're celebrating your 7yr anniversary, wife's birthday, and about to drop a LOT of $$$. My biggest dilemma with Kauai, HI was NORTH (Princeville) or SOUTH (Poipu)? TO make a long story short... our stay at St. Regis (Princeville) was DEFINITELY the right decision on Kauai.

When we arrived we were amazed by the hotel grounds, lobby, and panoramic views of Hanalei Bay from our ocean front room; but, it was the SERVICE that truly made our stay memorable. I'm neither rich nor famous; but, for a brief moment, I thought they mistook me for the King of Zamunda or something. Then I realized they truly care and treat EVERYONE like they matter. From the valet service to the front desk all the way to the restaurant & housekeeping staff... Everyone's attitude was great, and their service was impeccable.

After running the San Francisco NIKE Women's Marathon (Oct 20) the day before our arrival, my wife also became a HUGE fan of the unbelievable spa amenities at The St. Regis; but, I MUST give special recognition to Kate Krieg in Concierge Services who was above and beyond in helping us with our helicopter flight, "must see" places, restaurant reservations, and everything in between.

Marc Pittman was the Manager on Duty during our stay. Talk about making somebody feel special and appreciated! KUDOS to Marc, Kate, & the incredible staff at St Regis - Princeville who truly showed the meaning of Aloha & Mahalo! Once again... St Regis is the RIGHT decision on Kauai.

Room Tip: Spring for the Ocean View Room. You will NOT be disappointed.

My wife and our 2 kids just returned last week from a fantastic 10-day holiday at the St. Regis Princeville Resort, our 3rd stay in the last 3 years. As always, the property is beautiful and the staff are fantastic. We had an ocean view room again, which is very large, well appointed and easily accommodates the 4 of us (our kids are still young). The food offerings are great and the property accommodated my wife's allergies to egg and dairy without any issues, even custom preparing her a special breakfast so it was ready at Makana Terrace each and every morning. Danielle at Makana Terrace is a delight and is especially great with kids (she is wonderful!). Veronica at the Nalu Kai Grill & Bar is also fantastic and so accommodative with our kids (great restaurant to take the kids for lunch by the pool/beach and an early supper too). She is definitely one of the reasons we return year after year.

We booked a family photo session with Pacific Dream Photography, located right on site on the 4th floor, just before the elevators down to the beach. Rachel, our photographer, was nothing short of spectacular! The photo shoot, which lasted 45 minutes, was completely relaxed and tons of fun. She had our kids having a blast, and the pictures were beyond our expectations. Thanks to the whole team at Pacific Dream Photography for helping to capture our families holiday, creating many memories we can view and share for years to come. We wouldn't hesitate to book a session with them again, as the finished product is amazing and the destination is perfect for amazing photos!

Love the St. Regis Princeville Resort and we look forward to our trip there next year.

Room Tip: If your travelling with young kids, ocean view rooms on Floor 4 are ideal, as you have direct access...

My wife and I recently celebrated our honeymoon at the St. Regis Princeville Resort and had a wonderful experience! The accommodations were incredible and the staff was incredibly professional and accommodating. Everyone we encountered from the valet to the housekeeping staff to the hotel sommelier were all very gracious, helpful and made us feel at home for our week-long stay.

With the amazing views, wonderful pool and beach and hotel dining options and many other options close by, we highly recommend St. Regis Princeville Resort for those planning a vacation to Kauai!

This is a 5 star resort, on Kauai. The food is good, not terrific. The rooms are comfortable, not spectacular. The staff is first rate and this gets this hotel the 5 stars. Rent a car, you'll need it.

My wife and a local friend were attending the Kauai Film festival last night at the St. Regis in
Princeville and thought it would be fund to have a drink and some pupus on the outside patio of the upper stairs lobby bar and take in the views and the sunset. We arrived about 5:20pm and found a table and the end of the patio with two chairs. I asked a server if we could have one more chair brought over - he shrugged it off and said I should ask our server - which I did. He said it wasn't possible - ok then I asked if he could please take our orders. 15 minutes went by and no server. I went inside to the bar and asked if I could place and order and have it brought out to our table- no was the reply, but "your server will be right out". Again no server. Finally another server showed up and took our drink order. 20 minutes later no drinks even though the server was nearby. We finally felt completely blown off and it as time to go downstairs to the festival. As we were leaving ;the manager asked if we enjoyed our time. I told him what happened and to his great credit he apologized and invited us to come back after the festival to be his guest for dinner. This was very much appreciated- but by then we wanted to get back to Hanalei, so we did take up his generous offer.

ALoha Ronparravano,

Mahalo for taking the time to write a review about your most recent visit to our Resort. We are pleased to hear you were able to join us for the viewings during the Hawaii Film Festival visit. We apologize however that you did not receive exceptional service in the St. Regis Bar. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back at another time so that our Manager may provide the service that you should have received during your initial visit.
