I stayed here for two nights and it was amazing. I am a solo traveler and a writer and I was so inspired by the kind staff, the fabulous food, and the scenery. The grounds are very clean, and the pool boys, as well as the activity desk staff are excellent with answering any and all questions. I had the butler service and every single butler I met went above and beyond to help with my needs. I also made sure to squeeze in a spa treatment at the Halele'a Spa. I did the Ali‘i Lavender Butter Pohaku Massage, and it was wonderful. They source local lavender from Maui for this treatment. Super authentic and special. When you come make sure you treat yourself to a dinner at the Kauai Grill, http://kauaigrill.com/. The entire menu is amazing. I travel a lot for my job, and this destination resort is one to add to your travel bucket list. You will love it.

Room Tip: Spring for a suite with butler service. Ocean Views are the best.

We stayed in St.Regis for 4 nights in April. Exceptional hotel in every aspect, makes you feel a special and valuable guest. After booking our room , we received an email from the hotel's representative ,Kate, asking if we had any requests that made us feel that we were welcome. Upon our arrival we were notified that our room was upgraded. It was a pleasant surprise to start our vacation . Rooms have spectacular view. Every staff that we encountered remembered our names (how do they do that?) ! Originally we wanted to get married in Kauai but were not sure about the location, after seeing the hotel and our room, we instantly decided to get married on our lanai in sunset ceremony. It was private and beautiful ceremony with magnificent Hanalei bay view. We could not have dreamed of a better place. Highly recommend! We will be back.

Hawaii is one of our favorite destinations and this was our first time to Kaui and in turn the St Regis. To see the resort on the outside I'd have to say it doesn't look amazing, but within it is very much something special. We stayed 5 nights is Princeville Suite and it was nothing short of sensational as of course was the view and I have to say you will be hard to find a better view when having a shower! Staff were amazing from the minute we arrived including the little things (that's what matters, right) like having a lei to present to our 8 week old son. Of course he couldn't wear, but what a thoughtful gesture and something we will always keep, along with our own. Resort is far north but we saw this as a positive not a negative. We had breakfast included in our rate, however we were told on Sunday it wasn't available and we could pay to upgrade to the brunch. My first reaction was a little annoyed as we felt we had paid for breakfast. We went ahead and paid an uplift fee and now we did I can see why. We've been to many countries and are lucky and grateful to stay 5 star where we go. This Sunday brunch is the greatest buffet I'd imagine exists on the planet!!! Picture your best b.fat, lunch AND dinner buffet at the best places and put it together and that is what you get here! One pool on site, but a nice size and pool menu for food and drinks is also exceptional. Beach is something special and I'd say one of the best restaurants in Hawaii if not the world sits in this resort, being The Kaui Grill. Book for sunset to take in the best view, and the food is nothing short of 10 out of 10, I'm always hard to please, but for this resort I actually can't find fault, the only other place in our travel where it's 10 out of 10 is in Bora Bora. Make the effort to visit this beautiful island and you must stay here, or at worst, eat here ;)

Room Tip: Princeville suite is amazing

Wow! The St. Regis and it's extremely professional, courteous, helpful staff did more than meet our expectations during our 3 night/4 day stay at the end of April. I had booked a Monarch Suite and, upon arriving, learned that the Monarch was not available (Jr. Suite with Terrace) for the first night of our stay. This was quite upsetting as I specifically chose to stay at the St. Regis because it had the terrace-option junior suite, and I explained that to the MOD, Jamie Prem. Jamie was the perfect epitome of a "here to please you and ensure you have an exceptional experience" manager. Not only did Jamie reduce our rate, she surprised us with a wonderful bottle of Vueve Clicquot and complimentary breakfast throughout our stay. The first night, we stayed in a Prince Jr. Suite (really, nothing but exceptional, just without the terrace), and the next two nights we were upgraded to a one-bedroom St. Regis Suite. The experience was nothing short of grand. The suite had three wall-sized windows (10th Floor) that opened all the way up so that the experience was as close to being outside as one could get without actually stepping outside. The views of the St. Regis beach, all of Hanalei Bay and the Napali Coast were simply unparalleled. I can't imagine a more beautiful, perfect, serene view (and we've stayed in Poipu and Wailea, Maui which aren't short on beauty either).

The rest of the team members were all so gracious and friendly, and worked effortlessly to ensure our every moment was exceptional (Greg Doland, our butler; Kaipo and Rommel at the beach/pool; Tim the valet; wish I could remember the other names). All the service, amenities and details one expects at a St. Regis were spot-on.

Room Tip: Higher floor for sure. Go for an ocean-view Jr. Suite (Monarch with terrace and even a non-terrace i...

We stayed at the St. Regis for five nights in March 2014 as part of a group event and found it to be an overall pleasant experience. The hotel, staff, and facilities all proved to be appropriate for this level of hotel and price point. Although I might not return it is not due to any fault of the hotel or staff. Rather it would be due to personal preferences.

My tastes run more toward the activities and energy of Maui over the hush of Kauai. The north end of this island is really remote. Let me say it again. It is really remote. There are places to go and towns to explore however it it much more isolated than the resort areas of Maui that we prefer. Those of you who find resort towns to to be overwhelming will likely enjoy this area.

We stated up high on the (lobby) or 9th floor. it is a bit of a commute to the beach and pool areas but worth it for the extra special water views. The bar is fun at night and dining options though limited were acceptable.

If you are a honeymooner or coming to Hawaii for the first time and trying to determine between high end luxury resorts here are a few tips. If the choices are down to:
FS Maui vs. St. Regis - head to Maui if you like action.
FS Lanai and St. Regis - head to Kauai as they are about the same but Kauai is more interesting
Hilton Waikoloa vs St. Regis - toss up leaning toward Hilton. If you have kids Hilton for sure
Ritz Carlton Kapaliua vs St. Regis - golfers head to Kapalua. Hikers head to Kauai
Hilton Hawaiian village vs. St. Regis - Kauai for sure! Oahau is like Las Vegas in the ocean.

Hope that helps some comparisons to other choices.

Room Tip: High floor 10th - facing water!

Talented service is the only way to describe St. Regis stay. Every staff member is exceptional, from the front door to housekeeping and beyond. The location of course is great, beach is calm and able to be walked easy, yet around the corner is the "hidden" beach that is extraordinary! Flowers, Cleanliness, Food, all were just amazingly wonderful ... but what truly makes the stay are the talented people before you at every turn ... fully knowledgeable of the area, resort and beyond.
Thank you for providing a great birthday dinner and stay for my daughter, husband and I.
The room was lovely, with a knock out view of the ocean! Oh ... and breakfast-waffles with coconut syrup drizzled with chocolate and shaved coconut. I'm sure that I will have to go to confession for that somewhere!!!

Room Tip: Spend the $$$ for the ocean view!

That's exactly where you'll feel like you're staying when here. Several years ago when we lasted visited, the staff was not pleased that the resort had been "converted" into a St Regis property. This time, however, everyone seems pleased as punch. Every staff member I encountered was warm and cordial. You are truly treated as a special guest. The location and view of the mountain range/ocean is simply out of this world. Prices are a little high if you want an ocean view room, but hey, the view from this property is unequalled when compared to just about any other place on this planet. In fact, you could enjoyably spend your entire stay here and not bother with anything else on Kauai. The restaurant offerings are nice as well but quite pricey. Two fitness centers are on premises and the one on the 8th floor is hidden and relatively unused. Another nice point is that they keep the rooms very clean. The shower has a large glass window that allows you to look out across the room to the magnificent view beyond, but with a flick of a switch, the glass can be made translucent. Great if you have a burning privacy urge.
