“Surprisingly Delicious!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 via mobile

This unassuming place had surprisingly great food. We came right after 11am, and I think this attributed to the food being so hot, fresh, and delicious. We ordered Portuguese soup (super flavourful), cornbread (moist, cakey, and hot-out-of-the-oven), and a hamburger (tasty, homemade patty). It is very casual (expect paper china) but worth a trip for lunch as you head back down the canyon road.

“good lunch stop”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

There are a lot of mixed reviews about the Kokee Lodge, but the experience I had was pretty good. Three things were recommended to us by one of the guides we had - the cornbread, chili and coconut pie, so we tried all three enjoyed them all. The coconut pie was the winner of the three things we had. The chili was tasty and it was especially good on the rainy day we were there. I thought the cornbread was a bit dry, so pass on that. This was a nice place to stop for a quick snack.

“Nice Place”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

Nice little casual resturant in the canyon. The only place to eat unless you bring a lunch. Menu was small, but had simple food that made everyone happy. Our son had a hamburger and we each had the steak patty with gravy, rice and vegetables. Food was tasty and prepared quickly. Nice little gift shop with bathrooms. Bought the chickens/roosters some food and enjoyed feeding them. A comfortable place to stop, rest, eat, and get re-energized to hike more or see more in the canyon.

“Must be desperate for food...”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Worst, most over priced meal I've had in Kauai since I moved here 9 months ago. Basically it is cafeteria food, served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The $10.50 burger came with no fries or even a bag of chips. My vegetables with the pork and rice- clearly from a can or looked to be anyways. When we left there was many a half full plates left, apparently others found the food to also be sub par. We left feeling swindled and foolish for choosing them. They don't care. They just want your money.

“Outstanding Portuguese Soup”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

A perfect lunch stop! After a 1 hour windy trip up the canyon we enjoyed their pulled pork sandwich and their corn bread side with Portuguese Soup was simply outstanding - warm, friendly service and not busy at bang on noontime! There is a fireplace with comfy furniture as well as a long set of windows overlooking the park area. Well priced and worth the stop. No other option exists and we respect the way they decided to home make certain items. Keep away from the crab shiu mai as recommended by the staff!
