“In trouble”
Reviewed 2 August 2007

The new owners may be in over their heads as the quality of the meals under the new chef is a far cry from Henry Clay who has sold the property and moved on to Scottsdale. Yes the noise from the dining room is troublesome but compared to the price of either of the Four Season properties - a real "steal".

  • Liked — It's cosy and laid back but noisy

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Lanai for two nights at the end of May. We really enjoyed our stay. We learned of Hotel Lanai from the Travel Channel. Lanai took some getting use to after spending the previous five days on Maui. However, once we began to relax and enjoy the slower pace of life on Lanai we had a great time.

We had a "Lanai Room" and did sit out on the shared Lanai often to take in Lanai City. The decor in our room was a bit dated but we found out that the hotel has new owners and they plan to spruce it up this fall. Also, Henry Clay is no longer the chef at the on-site restaurant (which will change names). We did eat there and had a great meal. The hotel had continental breakfast daily with fresh fruit, coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, and muffins. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lanai. There is a free shuttle service that runs often to the two resorts and to the harbor.
