Description: Perched above Hulopo"e Bay, Kailani specialises in contemporary Italian cuisine made from the freshest local and organic ingredients, sourced directly from Hawaii’s fishers and farmers. Served alfresco for lunch and dinner, innovative menus incorporate seasonal offerings that are proudly showcased in Chef Dario Montelvere’s daily specials. Dinner choices include lobster ravioli with local seasonal vegetables and vanilla butter sauce; locally caught smoked ono accompanied by rainbow carrots, baby artichokes and salsa verde; and cappesante e pancetta with scallops and pork belly, candy apple purée and micro celery.

Kailani overlooks the Hulopo'e Bay which you should try and get there during sunset; although you don't have a direct view of the sunset the view is still amazing. We ordered the Barbabietole as an antipasti which are Big Island beets, which I wish I could have taken home a case! they were absolutely delicious. For our main dishes we ordered the Bucatini which has a three meat ragu (veal, chicken, pork and fennel sausage) and the Spaghetti alla Chitarra which is housemade spaghetti carbonara (applewood slab bacon). Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The restaurant area was lit with tiki torches and mini lights which set a wonderful stage for a romantic dinner. For desert we had Torta di ananas which is a roasted pineapple almond cake, caramel sauce with Hawaiian sea salt and pineapple ice cream. The server was very friendly and tended to our every need/request.

We ate here a couple of times for lunch and once for dinner. Some of the food was great, some not so good. Service was very spotty at this restaurant.

We spent a magical dining evening at Kailani at the Four Seasons Manele Bay on Lanai, Hawaii in July. One of the best meals we had all trip. Excellent Italian food in a beautiful setting. Great service. If you are on Lanai don't miss this!!

During our stay at the hotel we went for lunch and dinner and truly loved it. The staff was very flexible when my husband wanted pasta for lunch and it wasn't anymore on the menu they made it possible. The food was great we specially liked the salads and the desserts.

Finally got the chance to dine at kailani, and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful table with a grey view, while having love Hawaiian music.

The menu is appealing with many dishes to select from. The knowledge and care from our waiter was impressive, giving is detailed recommendations and excellent knowledge. Although wine pairing was not recommended.

From their excellent pasta entree to the fans favorite, Bransino (I strongly recommend it) we were all very much pleased with our dinner experience.
