"My husband and I have returned to Whispering Bamboo cottage for three consecutive years, and have always enjoyed the beautiful environment created by our hostess. The sounds of nature, the star-filled nights, frequent evening rain showers and the calm serenity of this location make it an ideal location for stressed-out adults seeking a respite from the exhaustion of the working world and the tourist crowds in West Maui. The cottage is spotlessly clean, the kitchen well-stocked with cookery and utensils, and the care and attention to every detail clearly marks this cottage as having been created with loving, happy energy. Located in Haiku at the beginning of the road to Hana, the cottage is a terrific location for adults undetered by the short drives needed to visit top sight-seeing locations and beaches.
On this particular trip, we also spent two nights in Hibiscus Hideaway, a charming apartment unit attached to the main building. The roof over the deck area made it possible to enjoy the evening rainstorms outside. We would heartily recommend either the apartment or the cottage as perfect vacation accommodations. We are already anticipating our next return."

We have always stayed at hotel-condos in the past when visiting Maui, but this time decided to go for something a bit closer to the real Hawaii, away from the tourist areas. Maui Ocean Breezes proved to be an excellent choice. Directions were perfect and we had no problem finding the place. We stayed in the Hibiscus Hideaway Apartment. Our room was clean, the grounds well-maintained. Fresh plumeria flowers were placed in our apartment before our arrival. ReGina, the resident manager, met us and proved to be a friendly, hospitable resource throughout our stay. If you are looking for a place with beautiful ocean views, lots of lush greenery, and a peaceful atmosphere, this is the place to be. My wife and I also loved exploring nearby parts of the island we had never been to before--Kula, Makawao--as well as the wonderful local Mana market in Paia, which we visited daily. This turned out to be the best Hawaiian vacation we ever had.

We couldn't have found a more perfect place to spend our honeymoon, than here...it was absolutely wonderful from the moment we got there.....we didn't want to leave. The view, the accommodations, the hospitality….we really felt at home here, that when we went to the other side to spend the remaining 4 nights in Wailea, we were home sick! ;p

We can’t wait to come back here…..anyone searching for a perfect place to stay, look no further!
Close to Paia, the hipster town of the sufers…..so laid back, and great food and shops…and on this north side of the island, you’ll see some of the best beaches and views that put the road to Hana to shame!

Thanks Anjali for letting us stay at your place and Regina for taking care of us when we needed it!

~ Cheers
Andrea & Steve

We really liked this marvellous spot near Paia and enjoyed the garden park, the refreshing pool much appreciated by the girls and being a compensation for their fear of insects.
The property is spacious and beautiful, the location and decor are unique!
We appreciated Anjali's and Regina's warm and generous hospitality throughout our whole stay. I do hope our paths cross again. Best regards from Hamburg, Germany!

Most of the previous reviews pretty much some up our recent stay. The property was ideally situated away from the generic resort areas and the views from our studio apartment were superb. We greatly enjoyed breakfasts on our patios which always included fresh fruits provided to us on several occasions. Grilling at night with a nice ocean breeze on my back was pretty solid as well. We were only short drives away to pretty much every tourist (and non-tourist)-like destination. We would strongly recommend this place for the traveler who doesn't want the resort experience (and the costs).

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Anjali, the owner and hostess, was very friendly and shared local fruit with us on several occasions. The property is exceptionally well maintained and the views are outstanding. The pool area and pool itself was in great condition and my teenage girls loved it. We went ziplining 20 minutes away at Piiholo Ranch and also were close to Makawao, Paia, Haleakala volcano, and other Upcountry towns. The beautiful Hana highway was 1/2 mile away and the drive to Hana took about an hour and a half. The best beaches on the south and west sides of the island were about a 45 minute drive but it didn't seem that long.
If you want the beach at your doorstep then this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a peaceful, serene, secure location with friendly owners and incredible views then I would recommend Maui Ocean Breezes. We stayed in the Hibiscus Hideaway apartment where there was always a breeze to keep things cool and almost nightly rains that kept things green.
The only negative was an occasional roach or spider that came into the room when we opened the door. However there were easily dispatched with a broom. The other visitors were Geckos which did not bother us at all.

After a few busy weeks at work my wife and I decided to book a last minute vacation to Maui. Never having been to this part of the world we took a chance with Maui Ocean Breezes -- sometimes fortune treats you well, and in this case fortune downright spoilt us. We stayed in the cottage and the beautiful grounds, the sunrises, the meditation hut, the birds, and, most of all, the quiet was just what we needed. Anjelie and Regina work very hard at keeping the grounds, the accomodations, and the facilities clean and beautiful. They have created a great place to get away, and that is what we needed. Mahalo.
