From the minute we drove up we were delighted. We enjoyed spending time on the lanai, the kitchen was convenient and easy to cook in. We love the open living room kitchen because we spend so much time together. The cottage was convenient to the places we wanted to visit near Hana. We had beautiful weather so that was particularly great too! We were only able to spend one night here, but we enjoyed it so much we will stay there for two or three days next time we can come. Thanks for being so accommodating. We enjoyed the cottage so much!
Very cute house, spacious 2 bedroom, great location within minutes of Hana.
We had some questions and concerns that the owner promptly addressed and handled with grace (such as we didn’t realize the hot water heater had an on/off switch that was off due to used of solar heating ... but able to be turned on if needed). Owner is knowledgeable of the area, prompt and genuinely interested in making sure people are satisfied.
Would recommend this location.
Hana is far from the best attractions on the island but that place is worth the trip back and forth to them.
The site, the view, the house, everything is perfect. Sure, some of you will complain about the fridge or the toaster!! Is that what really matters ??
The house is comfortable, spacious and beautiful.
We spent a week there and had a chance to meet our hosts who are delightful characters.
If seclusion is the name of your game... this is the place you should go to if you're balsy enough to drive the road back and forth everyday.
We give it five stars and more!
Robin and Andrew were great hosts and took care of us, even if a few bad lucks occurred on the first day.
close to the Botanical garden, Hana Town, lava tubes and beaches. Nice grounds and home. As it looks in the photos. Andrew was nice to stop by and check on us when we arrived.
A fantastic escape from it all. We want to go back! The Hana Hwy is a test to drive out there, but well worth the adventure you have started. The house is surrounded by rain forest and the edible palms plantation. You can walk through the grounds and see the many fruits in abundance. Waking up to the sounds of the birds and more, the sites, and laid back feel of it all. Close enough to Hana to be a great HQ for the daily adventures of eastern Maui, instead of using up time driving the Hana Highway each day. From your first steps up to the door, you are immersed in the way of Maui life. With 4 beach areas nearby, we photographed beautiful sun rises each day, and stars from the front porch at night. Robin and Andrew are great hosts, I loved reading your book during my down time. I could easily live there and never leave. I definitely left part of my heart there in Hana. Jason V
Disappointing for the price. Shower curtain terribly obsolete, no food disposal or dishwasher. Surroundings were great but amenities sparse.
Loving the look of the outside of this cottage in Hana was what sold me on booking it for our overnight stay.
Unfortunately that was the best part about it, the outside.
After being woken several times throughout the night by noises, which we felt were coming from inside we couldn't find the result until the am when we woke up.
Upon finding mice droppings on the night table by my head, several droppings in the bathroom, kitchen and having to throw out our Aunty Sandys banana bread that we were saving for breakfast as it was nibbled on by the mice/ mouse.
There is also significant mold growing in the bathroom on the ceilings and walls and the fridge freezes your veggies and fruit ( had to throw out).
For the amount we paid for the night definitely was a huge let down.
