This is NOT a resort. So don't book here if you think you are going to have all the luxury of modern hotel and resorts. What you do get for an incredible price, convenient location and exceptionally personable staff: clean rooms, very accommodating housekeeping staff, great security (mainly to keep people from using their parking lot in the evenings for dinner and other entertainment); beautiful ocean front location with a nice beach to have a nice swim (the harbour is clean!) or watch the sunset. What you will not find at this hotel: modern amenities like a large screen tv's, modern fluffy beds/bedding and super comfy furniture or central a/c (it is a window a/c unit). The hotel is well maintained and is a "motel" style property in a beautiful location!

If you are looking for a place right on the beach, but don't want to spend a ton then this is one of the best hotels in Maui. The rooms are clean and decorated in Hawaiian themes. Check-in and check-out were handled by very nice and professional staff. They made me feel very welcome. I would rate this hotel higher if the rooms were a little higher quality. It has a rather 'motel' feel to it, but if you can find it at a good price you can splurge on the other reasons you are in Hawaii. I would go again if I were on a tight budget.

Maui Seaside is just a few minutes away from OGG Kahului airport and so I thought it would make for a good place to stay for a day or two before flying home. What I discovered is that it is much more than that. Although clearly not a luxury property, it is clean and well-maintained. The grounds are nice and there is a pool, although it closes early. Free breakfast (with some room packages) is at the attached restaurant and is very good, with limited selections from the Filipino and local items on the menu.

The people running the place are very friendly and helpful. Guest laundry room is spotless and everything works (which is more than I can say for our facilities at home). Our 3rd-floor room was spacious and pleasant. (That is one advantage to many properties of this era. Too many modern hotels seem to think a closet = a room, lol.)

Finally, the location is only a short walk to a large shopping center, the post office, many other restaurants, and, I found out, the local bus which will take you into Paia in only 15 minutes or so. This is great, as rooms in Paia can be hard to find and are NOT cheap! All in all, this is a nice pleasant place to spend a few days and I would definitely return.

Room Tip: I stayed in the 3-story building (superior room, I think).

This is our second visit to the Maui Seaside Hotel, and it was once again great for the cost! Close to the airport, and very willing to make your stay great. After checkout (noon), they allowed us to use the hospitality suite to shower and change for our trip back to the mainland which wasn't until 9:50 pm. Very accommodating!!

Room Tip: They do charge $5 a night for parking, and elevator is not centrally located - want either 1st floo...

If traveling on a budget, ir not, with or without the use of a vehicle for the duration of your stay, this close to the airport location - approximately three miles - was a cool spot. It was mainly selected in advance for its proximity to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center where the legend Carlos Santana was performing - the main attraction for my Maui visit. Although the Maui Seaside Hotel is located on the industrial bay and breezier side of Maui, it proved to be a decent location with a pick of healthy eating spots, shopping and attractions nearby.

Usually my selection for temporary residency while traveling is more upscale; however, this quaint two-story motel-esque setting was easier to maneuver to the beach area in just a few steps outside my room rather than having to walk down the hall, board the elevator, strut through the lobby of a high-rise hotel to reach the sand.

I rented a car for 24 hours from the airport to get around to other areas like Kehei to witness a sunny afternoon and beautiful sunset, to experience the most amazing sunrise 10,000 feet above on Haleakala, and visit nearby towns - all within a 30-40 mile radius of the hotel...another cool aspect of staying at thie Maui Seaside Hotel.

When traveling, it is important for me to connect with the staff whose care I will be in. I had established a phone rapport in advance of my arrival which made the stay all the more enjoyable - as I exchanged first name greetings with the friendly staff. Although the 'no frills' room was basic, it was clean; the landscaping and grounds were maintained daily. I witnessed, on the manicured lawn, along with other hotel guests, a full clear rainbow one morning and the departure of a cruise ship, that was docked in the nearby harbor, one evening.

Communication with the friendly staff, nearby conveniences and ability to walk to the beach just a few feet from my room, were key factors in my decision to return to the Maui Seaside Hotel at a future visit...I can't wait.

Stayed one night after a late flight into Maui. We had a full kitchen, a second floor balcony, best breakfast next door at Tante's Restaurant which was included in our rate and the bedroom was separate from the rest of the set up.
There is limited parking but after we dropped our bags it was a one minute walk back to the hotel from the auxiliary lot.
The hotel was probably 50 years old but perfectly maintained. I loved the beach right out the door however, its in an industrial side of the island so I wouldn't swim. The outdoor pool was inviting though.
I wish this hotel was on Kaanapali or further west since the old charm, great reception from the staff and convenience to an affordably priced restaurant made this my favorite night of the entire week I was on the island

This beach front hotel that looks like a motel is real bargain and boasts a great location. The rooms are comfy and spacious. You can lounge at their court yard central pool or walk easily to the largest mall on the island. Wonderful place to spend an overnight while intransitive to or from the airport, only 2 miles away.

Room Tip: Ask for a west facing court side room.
