I got a lemongrass chicken sandwich this time around. I usually order the spring rolls and the beef plate. Love the sweetness of the sauce and the rice is better prepared than other Asian restaurants. New cashier so the service was better than last reviewed! like the layered jello and the great tapiocas! like the honeydew melon, the sweet potato and the regular flavoured ones.Crispy potsticklers and the wontons good too. Complimentary water cups and love the bread! good sizes portion soup! this food court is still too tight but cleaner than the other malls! is convenient for catering.

Had the lemon grass chicken with noodles. Although the sauce was tasty, the chicken was not eadable. Seemed like it was days old and merely reheated, not too mention oily. Tossed the food and went next door for tacos. Much tastier and excellent quality. I suggest you skip Bale.

On a rainy day on Maui, we sought out this noodle shop and finally located it in a strip mall food court. The pho was very satisfying with lots of fresh Thai basil and sprouts and the fresh spring rolls were quite good. We also ordered one of the small baguettes, and very much enjoyed the crusty, fresh and chewy roll. The bakery end of this operation is excellent as well. Seating is crowded but the place is a gem for a quick lunch!

Ba-Le was my go-to place for good, cheap eats. I ate at the location in Kahului and in Lahaina. The Lahaina location offered STELLAR short ribs with kim chi fried rice. Ba-Le was a good place to buy good, cheap croissants.

I've made it a habit now to eat at Ba-Le on arrival and before leaving Maui. Their pho is like a tonic to help me adjust to Maui time (literally & colloquially).

Not only are there standard Vietnamese items available like pho, vermicelli and rice dishes, their sandwiches are also great to take to the beach.

Lots of veggie options on offer in every section of the menu--note that a vegetarian broth for their non-meat pho is available on request.
