“Friendly but loud”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

When I finally met Eva, the day after arrival (I had already looked around to locate everything myself), she was very friendly and gave me ideas of things to do in the area. The continental breakfast of croissants, fruits, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, cereals was perfect for us (one less meal to have to go out for) Let's talk location: walking distance to beach a is 3/4 of a mile, we always had lot's to take to beach so we drove and there is lot's of parking and beaches in the area. The B&B is in a neighborhood so expect neighborhood sounds, children sounds, neighbors getting ready for work, barking dogs. While we were there, the people across the street had quite the house party into the night, and other guests or neighbors would come home between 1am-3am and were very LOUD. The Pineapple Suite is under the common area so expect to be woken up between 5am-6am by breakfast preparation sounds, dogs walking/barking above you (Eva has 2 dogs) and/or talking and don't be surprised that when you enter the suite, you are entering through the bathroom. The advertised washer and dryer for guest use was always filled with towels and bed linens.

Room Tip: The Pineapple Suite is for very sound sleepers/early risers.

Jim and I appreciate all the reviews we receive on trip advisor. Our goal is to provide a "dream vacation". We are very disappointed when we fall short of our goal of "selling dreams, not rooms".

Our neighbor does have a poker party every other Thursday night. He graciously stops the party at 10pm to accommodate quiet hours for our guests. I truly thank him for this, as we do reside in a neighborhood and he in no way is required to do so.

Sunrise at Haleakala is a beautiful experience! Many who come to Maui want that experience. A Guest must leave Kihei around 3:00am in order to be at the top of Haleakala by sunrise. I do ask that guests try to be quiet when departing at this time, respecting the sleep of fellow guests. For the most part, I think guests maintain a quick and quiet exit on these mornings. I apologize that this was not the case for this guest.

We will continue make every effort to keep the noise to a minimum on the upper lanai while preparing breakfast. Breakfast hours are from 7:30am-9:00am but we have coffee ready for guests around 6am. For the early morning jolt some need prior to breakfast. We will consider halting this 6am service if it proves other guests are disturbed by it.

Thank you for you comments and the time to provide them. We know your time is valuable and appreciate you time and concern. We will follow up and correct the deficiencies we can.

Jim and I hope your next trip to Maui is everything you dreamed it would be.

I can definetely confirm all the positive comments on Eva and Jim´s B & B, As i planned all the
accomodations for our long planned dream vacation, alone the name of their B&B made me
curious to know. The photos on their Website inspired me as well, so I stayed with them 4 Nights.
The Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with beautiful Stone Tiles on the Ground and Walls. A great advantage for us was the quiet and calm atmosphere during the nights and the short distance to the beautiful Kamaole Beach Park.
Top of all the Highlights was the spacious Breakfast Terrace with a view over the Maalea Bay to
the West Maui Mountains. Tks Eva and Jim, what a wonderful experience. Friedhelm and Carola

Thanks, Eva, for such a great stay. We called you mid-afternoon on a Sunday, and you helped us with suggestions for accommodations for 3 nights, with 2 of those not on your property. You made our stay in Maui very welcoming. We loved the unit we occupied. Lots of attention paid to every detail. Eva was very flexible with a late arrival time, and even printed out and put up signs to direct us to our unit. Breakfast the next morning was a delight - croissants, jam and butter, deli meat and cheese, English muffin, and the best fruit (blueberries, mango, and pineapple)! Eva was also very helpful with suggestions of things to do/see. Thank you, Eva! We hope to stay with you again when we visit Maui! Mahalo!

Eva and Jim make our time and our stay in Maui to a "what a wonderful B&B" experience. Eva is very passion in making her guest feeling comfortable. And if you have any question about Maui, where to go, what to experience just ask Eva....better than asking a visitor center. If you like it crowded, huge, fancy and long busy buffets just go to one of the resorts. If you like it personal, cozy, nice and with a fantastic view when you have good breakfast. We highly appreciated to stay away from the busy beach, but still being close enough to visit the restaurants and beaches without major drives. It was not only staying there it was fun.
Next time: we'll come again. Thanks and Mahalo Eva and Jim!
