Dreams Come True on Maui Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #8 of 16 Kihei B&B and Inns
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We have stayed in the Cottage before and liked it so much when we decided to return to Maui in March this year we just booked it without looking at anything else.Tom and Denise have put some nice upgrades into the cottage since our last visit as well. For us it is just perfect, it's in a quiet residential area yet only minutes by car from some of the best beaches on Maui. This B&B is run by an extremely nice couple and it is always wonderful to chat with them.Tom always provides a wealth of information for planning day trips, activities and always tries to make sure you enjoy your Maui experience!

The photos of the cottage are spot on and it is exactly as described. Everything we needed was there and they have nice touches like a cooler and ice packs to take for a picnic lunch. As well, there is beach equipment and a washer and dryer are also available for the guests.

There are two B&B rooms in the main house as well as the separate cottage, but the way the property is set up we hardly ever saw the other guests. In the cottage it just seems like having your own property all to yourself. There is a wrap around deck and gas barbq just for the cottage as well. Nice to sit out there and have breakfast or lunch and listen to the birds

To sum it all up we find this cottage to be great value in a peaceful and relaxing setting.

Tom and Denise , thanks once again. We will be back!

We had such a great time staying with Tom and Denise. The room was just the best with all you would want for a quiet and restful visit to Maui, well equipped with a comfortable bed. Waking up to a beautiful ready to eat breakfast on the patio listening to the birds singing was just sublime. Tom was a great source of information as to where to eat and when to visit various attractions. The huge range of beach equipment to borrow was a pleasant bonus when you have travelled from Europe. Dreams Come True on Maui is the perfect antidote to the big impersonal resorts you find down the road; local, friendly, well equipped with that personal touch and such good value. I just wish I lived nearer so I could visit more often!

We thank Tom & Denise for sharing their slice of Paradise! It was magic waking to sounds of the local birds. We have never gone on vacation and wanted to get up early, but Maui is so full of wonder we just had to get right out there and explore. Dreams Come True was the perfect place for us to reflect on the fun we had each day, and it was close to town but far enough from the crowds and super touristy areas. We loved the neighborhood, peaceful comfortable bed, sundeck surrounded by amazing trees and views.
We are dreaming of our return. Mahalo nui loa!

We were in Maui for 5 days and stayed in the ocean room for 4 nights. I really hope to return some day. Highlights are:
1. The bed is so comfortable that we even took a look at the brand!
2. It's in a quiet residential area, which is a huge blessing to me! Only a block away up from the highway and a couple blocks after the turn. Just 10-20 mins drive to the most beautiful beaches in southwest Maui.
3. Denise's breakfast is wonderful! You got to choose 4 items from the list every day!!
4. Tom and Denise prepared almost everything you need to enjoy the beaches, from coolers, beach towels and snorkel equipment to beach chairs and umbrella. You just need a car and yourselves to enjoy the life!

I'll start off by saying we read most of the TripAdvisor reviews before choosing this B&B. We were initially concerned with some of the comments on the bed and lack of privacy etc, etc… I'll also admit that the pictures on the website really don't do the room any justice (we stayed in the rain forest room).

That said, we were most relieved, and very pleasantly surprised by what we found and experienced. First off, Tom and Denise were very welcoming and very accessible. Their advice were spot on, not only about the beaches but also about how to plan your stay on Maui. Priceless- it honestly made our trip 100x better! Also, the Maui Revealed guide book graciously available in the room is hands down the best guide book on Maui (I hate the Lonely Planet).

If you like beaches, this location is perfect due to the close proximity to the south coast beaches (which in my opinion are the best, and least crowded beaches compared to some other beaches I've seen). You're also on the side of the island which is dry- almost desert dry... The room itself was very clean and equipped with what was necessary (the cooler was definitely used to the max). There's a small fridge and toaster oven available. If you're looking to cook your own dinner, you'll find it a little challenging, but do keep in mind it is a B&B. There is a BBQ and microwave near the common area (which we completely forgot to use- our bad). The bed was more than comfortable. We had absolutely no issue with the privacy on the lanai. Like other reviews have stated, it is walled off and a screen can be rolled down (if you really think it's necessary). There's a DVD player and flat screen TV if you really think you need it.

Breakfast was a treat with the different menu options (you have to submit them the night before).

We brought our own snorkel gear (which I think is a great investment if you're going to go on other islands on the same trip) so can't comment on the snorkelling equipment- you can buy them really cheap at Costco. Beach towels are also kindly available.

Overall, we loved our stay here and highly recommend this B&B. We spent most of our time here (a week), running all over the island and only came back to eat, change and sleep (and shower of course). Don't come to Maui to spend all your time in an expensive 5 star hotel. You can do that anywhere. Come to Maui to enjoy the island all it has to offer. This B&B allowed us to save our money and enjoy most of what this beautiful island has to offer. Great value!

We stayed in the condo with my boyfriend and we had a really great time there! The location is perfect - just across the road there is Kamaole Beach park III., its close to many other beautiful beaches and also restaurants and shops... The condo is very nice, very clean, very well equipped with everything you need (even more) and we really felt very comfortable there, like at home... Tom and Denise are great hosts and they are very kind and helpful.
We stayed there more than a week and we really enjoyed it! hope to come back soon again!

We went to Maui for our honeymoon and stayed at Dreams Come True. We had a wonderful time and loved our cabin! Tom and Denise had a welcome basket waiting for us and treated us wonderful! We borrowed their snorkeling equipment and Denise even picked me a fresh mango off of her tree in the yard! They had everything we needed and we felt very safe and at home in their cabin. We definitely would recommend Dreams Come True as a great place to stay!
