“Manager micro manages and messes up servers orders”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We arrived in Maui and we're looking for a delicious fish dinner. nice server. Left us with a menu and described the specials. Another guy showed up and took our order for wine. Our server came to take our order and went off to find out what was happening. Drinks came. Other guy showed up to take our order. We said our waiter was looking after us and he said "I am the manager". He took our order for mahi mahi and left. our order came and was the Ono special with quinoa and eggs, which we sent back. Poor server apologized and we got our fish. Asked us if we wanted dessert, we said no. Manager came by and dropped the dessert menu and did not hear us say we did not want. It. Esoteric! Not going back!

“We hope that they can improve”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Ami Ami has everything to be a great restaurant, and we hope they get there. So far it did not impress us.
The best thing there is the very cool brazilian waiter!
The drinks were not good, they were OK. The bread they bring to the table was frozen and was cold. The steak was excellent quality Snake River Farms, but the mashed potatoes had no flavor, no salt, no pepper...The Scallops were delicious, but 3 small ones in a entree'? Charge me more but I don't want to leave hungry. Overall it was a little overpriced for what they are offering. They belong to the Cafe O'Lei local business, but don't offer a Kama'aina discount. We often go to Mamma's and Ruth Chris and pay top dollar, but we always leave happy.

“New service”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

No more late night happy hour, now has a hostess stand, loud live music, tasty but overpriced food ($13 for a mahi sandwich on dry bread with a paltry serving of fries). Nice atmosphere next to the pool and full bar.
