I've done the snorkel trip before but the afternoon Four Winds II really made the experience my favorite. They had a great crew and the captain, Taylor and Trey were so friendly. Would definitely recommend this trip to everyone!

This was my wife's and I's first trip to Maui. We picked them out by the local attraction magazine, and not from reviews. In that sense we got lucky.

If I looked at reviews, I'm sure I would see glowing reviews of the Maui Magic. They were friendly, knowledgeable, very straight forward with getting us to the dive site, and had a bit of fun on the way. They are all about everyone having a good time and getting to see every fascinating creature on the way to and at the dive sites. You must do a "like" on their facebook page and get to see all the other sights they happen upon on their trips daily, It's almost like being on the boat again.

Thank you guys for a wonderful experience and if you get a chance to take one of their trips, I'm sure you will be as thrilled as we were on ours!

First of all, a note to a few of the other reviewers...news flash, the crew/company can't control the weather. If you have ever booked another excursion you would know that it's at your own risk. Ok, now to my review...been on many excursions before and this one had the best crew! The captain was hilarious and the staff was pleasant. Yes they talk about snuba, videos and water suits you can pay for but I never felt pressure to do so and actually everything is reasonably priced compared to other trips. There was plenty of food and it was good! The wetsuits were $5 to rent and worth it because the water was cold. We saw over 40 humpback whales and it was majestic. The crew's enthusiasm was awesome. The cd with underwater photos was $30 and I think that is a great price given that they give you the cd and several jpegs. Other tours will charge you 10-20 for one photo! The quality was great. Highlight of our trip!

The actual trip involved just taking us about 10 min from the marina and anchoring off shore. Hardly worth the effort. Little or no emphasis on safety. Not something i would recommend for seniors or children. Very strong winds on the day we went out and the only indoor space was wall to wall people. We stayed up top and had to hold on to the gear and the kids because of strong winds. There is a big emphasis on Snuba, underwater cameras, and videos of your excursion. The captain seem to be a real jerk but the crew was pleasant. Just a big disappointment and not worth it.

There is no "out" with this excursion. When we showed up to board, it was windy enough to make your face ripple. We knew it wasn't going to get any better on the water and we were right. It was much worse. They should have given us refunds/option to reschedule knowing that we weren't going to make it to the crater. This wasn't revealed until AFTER we were leaving the harbor. By this point, we and our money were already hostages and there was no getting off that boat. The crew were all very nice and tried their best to make it fun. But they really need to scale down their upsells. It got annoying fast. Sales pitches for digital cameras, wet suits, photos, Snuba, etc. The alternative snorkel area was fine but we could have done that on our own and saved the $500 plus for our family of 6. It was just around the point from the harbor anyway. No need for a boat. Highway 30 was just above our heads. Lunch was average. Nothing special. The main reason we booked this trip was to experience the crater up close, and its a shame that didn't happen. What stings the most is what we paid to be taken around the block to a snorkel area that we could have explored for nothing. What a waste. Unless you know it's going to be pristine weather conditions, don't expect any sympathy when they smile as they take your hard earned money and tell you there's nothing they can do. It's because they choose not to.
