My family of 5 had a wonderful time at Dolphins Point, even during Tropical Storm Flossie! You can not ask for a better location. Dolphins Point is beachfront with direct access to Kamaole 1. Seriously, your yard is the beach! And it's a great beach! My kids had a blast just waking up, eating breakfast and heading out the door to swim, body board, etc. No need to pack up and drive to another beach or find a public restroom or place to eat. We got in the routine of getting up early (hey, we were still on California time), playing/relaxing/snorkeling on the beach, going on various excursions in the afternoon, and coming home for dinner and then going "night" swimming. I felt like we really did a lot during our 9 days in Maui and a lot of that was due to staying at Dolphin's Point. No matter where we traveled on the island, we were always able to get our beach time in because we were on the beach. So it wound up being very relaxing and stress-free. Plus, the owners, Jackie and Larry are so gracious and kind. Thank you Jackie and Larry! They supply pretty much everything you can think of, kitchen, cleaning and bathroom supplies, beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, sand toys, body boards etc. We stayed in Plumeria and it was perfect for our family. We also enjoyed the large lanai as well as our own private patio. On my last trip to Maui, my oldest son and I stayed at the Grand Wailea Resort, which was lovely with great pools, but I would still choose Dolphins Point. My family and I took a walk in Wailea to see all the beaches and hotels along the way. The Grand Wailea and the Wailea Beach looked like a zoo! My entire family said that they would not have wanted to stay there and love Dolphins Point. When we come back to Maui, we will definitely be staying at Dolphins Point! We are hoping to bring my in laws next trip!

We spent two wonderful weeks at Dolphins Point over Christmas and New Year"s . The location of Dolphins Point is ideal! It's just steps from the soft, golden sands of the beach at Kamaole I and in the center of Kihei with easy access to restaurants and shops. It's also not far to visit some of the other sights on the island. Lahaina, Wailea, Makena Beach are just a short drive away.
We stayed in the Plumeria suite which was perfect for our family of six. The spacious suite had everything we needed to make it our "home away from home." The kitchen was fully equipped so that we could cook when we didn't feel like going out to a restaurant. Its situation in Kihei meant we were just a short walk or drive to a market to get our supplies. We loved being able to barbeque our dinner while enjoying the sunset and listening to the surf. We also had everything we needed for a fun day at the beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, all sorts of shovels and pails for building sand castles were all provided.
Our typical day started with an early morning walk, breakfast, then set up our chairs on the beach for some serious sun-tanning and playing in the surf. We would take a break for lunch in our suite then back to the beach for more fun in the sun. At the end of the day we would watch the incredible sunsets! Each one different from the day before! Several days we were treated to a show of whales playing just off shore before the sun slipped into the sea!
If you are looking for a little bit of Paradise, Dolphins Point may be exactly what you're looking for. It was for us!

Once again we experienced Maui the best way a person should! Dolphins Point is the ultimate vacation destination. We had rented the Ginger Suite on our first stay 2 years ago and found it absolutely perfect for two of us. This trip we needed more room as we brought our sister/sister-in-law with us to celebrate her 66th birthday and so we stayed in the two bedroom Plumeria Suite. Lots of room and a bonus with the two bathrooms. You will not be disappointed if you choose this accommodation I promise. It has everything you need and more. Being right on the beach is the best! Just book it! You'll love it!

We stay at Dolphins Point every year we come to Maui now. We have stayed at condos in Kihei in years past before getting in at Dolphins Point. The direct beachfront is the absolute best, I figure my wife and I save 1-2 hours a day of not having to "pack up the rental car to drive to the Beach". The owners are excellent people and are always making sure your stay is awesome. The property has all the beach supplies you need to enjoy an excellent day on the beach. Dolphins Point is perfectly located between Kam 1 and Charley Young beaches, so it is never crowded in front of the property.

Been coming to Maui once or twice a year for over 20 years and have finally found the best location by far. All our needs were met: on the beach, comfortable and extremely clean accomodations with all your beach related supplies (boogie boards, lounge chairs and towels) provided.

Whether you want to be near some of the best beaches or be in walking distance of eateries and grocery stores, Dolphin Point is the best and you couldn't ask for better hosts/owners (personable and welcoming).

My wife and I were fortunate that a last minute cancellation got us into the Hibiscus Suite at Dolphins Point for 5 nights at the end of January. I would echo the other reviewers in their enthusiasm for how perfect Dolphins Point is for your stay in Maui. From a spotless first impression that included all the cooking, living and beach items you might need to the spectacular view out across Maalaea Bay at sunset we were captivated by Maui's charm and beauty.

Jackie and Larry live on site and keep the grounds impeccable and are a wonderful resource for information. We used the on site BBQ (Weber) to cook a great seafood dinner and gave the blender a daily work out as well. On our last morning Dolphins Point lived up to its name with two dolphins jumping right out front - not to mention the whales and turtles.

We don't typically return to the same place for our vacation, but we have booked back in to Dolphins Point for next year!

We hopped around the island, stayed on the north side (Huelo Point and Hana) for 6 nights, and then came over to Dolphin's Point for relaxation and "doing nothing".
We are so pleased with our selection! Not being people who like high rise hotels or condos, we found our ideal spot with Dolphin's Point, staying 5 nights at the Hibiscus Suite: our bedroom window was practically right at the beach.
Stepping out of our unit, it took us about 50 feet to be in the ocean - no getting out of elevators, crossing the street, having a view of a parking lot, all these things you could easily find with other accommodations . I don't think you'll find any other place on the Kihei side to provide you with that kind of beach front luxury as Dolphin's Point does!
My feeling is that the Hibiscus Suite is "the best" of the three suites offered: ceilings are rather low, so there is some darkness in the rooms, more towards the back, but not worth getting aggrieved about.
The Ginger is the furthest back from the ocean, just has a tiny sitting area in front of their unit, then comes Plumeria, with a large sitting area, then Hibiscus with medium sized sitting area. Being the last in the row of three gives you the most privacy, about people walking by to get to their unit. We were perfectly happy with our pick!
Well equipped kitchen, though it would be super great to have real stone ware instead of corning ware dishes, and a few more mixing bowls, skillets, just little things, really - but everything you need is definitely there.
The bed is more on the soft side, but still, it worked very well for us.
Plenty of towels, and all the beach equipment you can only think of, is there to take out for the day.
The overall vibe was VERY friendly and relaxing , 2 thumbs up.
