When we pulled into the driveway today (the free map handed out at the airport shows the garden on the wrong side of highway 37), the colorful plants flanking the walkway to the entrance already conveyed that Enchanting Floral Gardens is no average botanical garden.

Brought into existence by two owners of Japanese descent it now offers a large variety of fruit and nut trees - from a Macadamia to Hawaiian oranges, Lychee, Lilikoi and many more - as well as most colorful flowers and bushes. As it is right around the corner from Kula Botanical Garden, anyone interested in plants should try to see both of them. They are quite different, and very much complementary, not in competition.

What left a lasting impression at Enchanting Floral Gardens was its caretaker - his knowledge, willingness to spend time with visitors and explain not just the plants but how the property came to be what it is. The green tea he made for us was wonderful, and so were the fruits from the garden that he shared.

Enchanting Floral Gardens is one of the very few places I would visit again every time that I return to Maui - it is that unique.

Very creative ideas to display plants. Enjoy local plants and flours. Peaceful place to sit and relax. Gift shop is a little high priced.

The gardens are being worked on but have great potential. There are some beautiful sections but other sections need more work.
Bathroom facilities are good and the cafe serves good food and smoothies. Breakfast and lunch available, reasonably priced.

After reading other reviews, we were very disappointed in these botanical gardens. Supposedly they had done a lot of renovating and cleaning up of the grounds but the area still looked sad. There were no signs attached to most of the plants, so we had no idea what we were looking at most of the time. The Tropical Gardens of Eden near the Iao Needle is far better for one's money.
