We stayed for 3 nights at the hyatt. We loved the convenience of the resort, close to whalers village and black rock. But we were overall disappointed with the room. I expected nice rooms. The bathroom was horrible, dirty, poorly lit, and the shower drain ran slow. We didn't complain because it just wasn't worth it.

We took advantage of the half day prices at the cabanas and the happy hour at the bar. Drinks and food never disappointed.

Pool was busy each day with people laying out the items and towels by 8 am. Walking by the other resorts the hyatt pool seemed to be the nicest.

Overall location is great, service was wonderful but when paying a good amount of money I expected the room to be a little nicer.

Hyatt Maui was a great choice. We had an oceanview room which was just lovely. The view amazing! The restaurants onsite were all good also. The pool was excellent, really big so would never feel crowded. Penguins, parrots, flamingos, swans... All beautiful additions. Would definitely stay again.
Tip: get the ocean view, it's worth it!

IMPORTANT: Add at least 50 dollars per night to the price indicated on your booking as they charge a 30 dollar resort fee and 18 dollars for self-parking (22 for valet) + taxes.

We stayed at the Hyatt for 4 days for our honeymoon during the second week of june. We had previously been to big island which was supposed to be a bit more "rustic" and were expection our "luxurious" part of the honeymoon to be at Hyatt. Unfortunately it was not the case.

When we arrived the person who checked us in was not very welcoming and did not smile the whole time we were there. We were quite outraged by the resort fees that were applied and the price of the parking. We had stayed previously at the mariott's on big island and at least self-parking was included in the resort fee.

Valet parking being 4 dollars more and since we were already being ripped-off we chose valet parking. Every time we went to get our car we had to wait AT LEAST 5 minutes (and sometimes ten minutes) for our car to arrive which I think is unacceptable.

We were disappointed by the breakfast buffet which was not worth the price so we only went twice. On check out we were told that we had 1 breakfast for free... had we know that at the beginning we would have gone everyday because for half price it was not a bad deal.

We had excellent Mai Tais at the Japengo and the food is not bad either.

Regarding the equipment, the room was not extraordinary, we could neither open the curtains nor use the balcony because we were next to the construction site but we knew the deal so cant complain.
The bathroom was disappointing and poorly lit.

We enjoyed a very nice massage at the SPA, a very nice show at the luau and did some body boarding on the beach.

The location of the hotel is perfect and you can walk down the beach in front of all the hotels up to the Black rock in front of the Sheraton.

There is a shopping center quite close where we went to eat several times. (it can be accessed from the beach too)

Coming back to the hotel, I do not consider it a "luxurious" hotel...the equipment was outdated and the feeling is more of a vacation club with too much noise, too many colours, too many restaurants, too much of everything.. except for good service

Probably won't come back to that hotel.

Room Tip: If you are planning on leaving your room early and coming back late, you can book the rooms in front...

We found the Hyatt in Maui to be everything we expected and more. Fabulous location right on the beach near Lahaina, wonderful and well-maintained grounds, practically a mall on the first floor, magnificent atmosphere upon arrival. The rooms were also spectacular, luxurious amenities, sparkling clean, extremely comfortable beds, I could rave about everything. Suffice it to say that there was nothing in our four day stay that was a disappointment, from the food, service, surroundings, etc. A fabulous location too - Lahaina is a dear little town and a great place to stroll, eat, shop, etc.
