My husban and I got married here in Oct 2011. We had an amazing time! The staff was so friendly and helpful and did so much more than I expected on our wedding day! Of course, we sprung for a partial ocean view and they upgraded us to ocean front which was beautiful
This deffinitly isnt an amazing fancy hotel but for the price it is a bargain! The breakfast buffett is good, I would recommend getting it as part of your package becuase it is pricey otherwise. We didnt end up eating at the Tiki Bar, because there were lots of nice resturuants just a few minutes down the beach.
We snorkled out in front of the hotel and saw amazing fish and sea turtles!
What a great trip!

Hardly noticed among the "super-resorts" on Maui is a charming, clean, affordable, and (most importantly to me) Hawaiian hotel. The Kā'anapali Beach Hotel has opted not to add the huge swimming pool with water slides, or faux waterfalls with a swim-up bar, which make the other resorts sort of blend together. Instead, you will find a refreshing whale-shaped pool in the middle of a huge grassy courtyard scattered with much needed shade trees and Hawaiian artifacts. The beach front is about the best on Maui, just a few steps from your room.

The real treasure of the hotel is its employees! Just sit in the lobby for a 20 minutes and you will feel like part of the family! I live just an hour drive from this hotel, but have made it a family tradition to spend a weekend there every November for the past 20 years. I will return next week, and of course indulge myself at the famous Sunday morning brunch!

Room Tip: Personally, i love the ground floor due to easy walk in and out to the pool, bar, and BEACH!

We returned from three weeks in our 50th state, and one of our most enjoyable portion was the stay at Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival from Oahu, upgraded our room to a first-floor ocean view which really made our stay more enjoyable, and then we relaxed. The staff was friendly, the service good. Prices are higher throughout the Hawaiian Islands than on the mainland, but KBH was not out of line. Being on the beach, we took advantage of the beach walk that runs along the shoreline between the hotels, condos, and Whaler's Village. Extending almost 1 mile, we were able to leave our car parked and walk to most dinners, most shopping, and just for exercise. When we checked out, the staff give you a "going away" present of Kukui leis - and offer to add another nut when you come back to see them again. We would definitely do so.

Room Tip: If you get a ground floor room, the access to the pool and beach is closer, but you also need to kee...

We stayed at this hotel for eight days/nights, and we loved it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As some of the comments mentioned, it is an older hotel and not a swanky one, but its charming non-the-less. Its kept very clean and the landscape/gardens are constantly manicured. The beds are also comfy and the hospitality staff does an excellent job in their daily cleanings.

Tikki Bar and Grill - The Tikki bar is an excellent place to grab drinks. I’m not a guy who likes drinks with fruit in them, but the Mai Tai’s are awesome! The daytime bartender makes killer ones! I tried all the other “tourist drinks” like the lava flow and that was yummy too. For you party animals, the evening bartenders pour them on the light side (my opinion), so I would drink somewhere else or drink beer to get your money’s worth(ha-ha). The Tikki grill (next to bar) makes food to munch on while you drink or swim at the pool. The food at the grill was okay, but very convenient.

Hotel pool – It’s a nice pool that’s kept very clean. Plenty of chairs to lay in the sun in, or take a nap.

Hotel grounds – Like I mentioned above, the grounds are taken care of and are very lush. There were beach chairs strewn throughout the garden for people to nap or catch the sun rays. We usually grabbed a couple of chairs around 5:00 to watch the sun set while drinking a cocktail. Very relaxing!

This hotel is right on the beach and had the Trilogy shack right at the beach entrance. This was convenient as you could rent beach cabanas for $30 all day, snorkel gear, towels, book sunset or snorkel cruses. Check out my review on Trilogy for more details on the cruises and service.

Parking garage– they charge you $10 a day to park on the property. Other hotels do the same thing, so don’t be shocked.

I loved this Hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a value packaged hotel.

Mahalo!

I truly felt part of the "family" or Ohana at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Although I did not take advantage of all of the great (and free!) amenities offered by the hotel, I SO enjoyed the kindness and friendliness of the staff, and their willingness to help and even their courtesy. Sooo nice to be greeted each and every moment with a friendly "Alohaaa!" by EVERYONE. It didn't matter if it was a housekeeper, a groundsman, a front desk person, a waiter.... whoever it was, they were SUPER friendly. The rooms were kept immaculate by our housekeeper, "Nena" and the grounds on the property were constantly being manicured. I remember at sunset seeing petals from some of the trees scattered all over the lawn. By sunrise, the petals were gone and all you saw was pure green grass. The rooms were large and comfortable. The views from the 5th floor were AMAZING. The luau shows were very nice also. The Tiki Grill had GREAT food and drinks. And the BUFFET BREAKFAST was FANTASTIC!!!! Definitely worth it to add it to your package. Then as if it everything wasn't great, they gave us a farewell ceremony and gave us all the "nut" leis as a goodbye. Just awesome. All in all, I LOVE this hotel and would DEFINITELY come back again and again!!! Mahalo and a hui hou!!!

We just returned from another wonderful stay at KBH (#15 or so I think). A couple we met at the Tiki Bar has been coming to KBH for 31 years! We love everything about the hotel, from their stunning grounds with the many beautiful flowering trees, the great beach just steps away, and the Tiki Bar and nightly free Hawaiian entertainment. Most of all, we love the great people at KBH. Most, if not all, are native Hawaiians and they are very warm and genuine people. When we arrived, one of the staff in the lobby recognized us, gave us a big hug and said "welcome home". The location of the hotel is a few steps away from the Black Rock, a very good snorkeling spot. You can rent some snorkel gear right at the hotel and walk down to Black Rock. No need to take an expensive excursion to see seat turtles, stingray and many beautiful fish. This is an older hotel, but very clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a "luxury" hotel with fancy pools with water slides and luxury amenities, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a clean, comfortable room and a great experience, stay at KBH and you won't be sorry.

We last stayed here 14 yrs ago, rooms have been updated, grounds are meticulously maintained, miles of walking paths. I would recommend at least a "partial ocean view" room, rooms on the backside have dismal views. Breakfast buffet option is a good deal.
