“How to relax”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

The KBH may not be for everyone -- the bar won't be on anyone's hot places list -- but it's a hotel/resort that sets a tone of relaxation. The large area opening on the Ka"anapali beach is wonderfully landscaped so it's a pleasure to just sit and enjoy the breezes. The staff is guided by the idea of the "Aloha spirit," and does whatever they can to make your stay a pleasant and restful experience.

We have stayed in Maui several times and KBH is the best! The Aloha spirit is ac definete plus. The cultural events are wonderful. The nightly music soothing... Everyone has always been gracious and we have stayed here at least 4 times. We are looking forward to planning our trip again in April. Do not miss this peace of heaven for your vacation.

My Husband took me for my Birthday! It was a wonderful experience! The Natural Beauty is Awe Inspiring ... The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely rent a car, and do try to book excursions prior to arriving! The room, although very average, met our needs since we weren't in it much. The Magic Show Was nice and included dinner so it was a good value. The Old Lahaina Luau is a must do!

This was our first time to Maui and this Hotel did not disappoint.
Beach was great and views incredible with the isles of Molokai and Lanai in the distance.
Hotel is close to shopping and and good restaurants.
Onsite restaurants were adequate .
You had to line up by 730am in the morn to book a beach chair though.or else you did not get one .
Its a older hotel alright ,which we were ok with.
Loved the Tiki Bar
We would stay here again...no problem.

Our package included car hire from the airport which was quick and easy. On arrival at the hotel we were given the option of parking the car ourselves for $10 a day or valet parking for $12 a day. So for the extra $2 per day we had the car parked for us. Never a problem getting the car in or out. All the staff are helpful and obliging. Our room was in the Lanai block with a view over the pool which was nice. The room was clean and tidy but was looking a little dated. The beds were very comfortable and fresh. Not a huge room but enough for the two of us. Bathroom again a little dated but everything worked as it should. No WiFi at all in the rooms - only down by the pool and lobby areas with an extra charge of $10 per day. Also an extra charge if you wish to use the safe in the room. The hotel itself is set on a great beach area in between some of the larger resorts. The pool area is great for family's with plenty of sun lounges there to use and grassy areas to relax on. The Tiki bar is a great place to sit and have a Mai tai or two and relax. The Tiki grill does all the usual burgers, chips and pizzas. Our package also included breakfast for which we had vouchers. The buffet breakfast is okay but we found ordering an omelette off the menu a much nicer option and you can take off the voucher value off the cost of the breakfast and just pay the difference. There is also a special breakfast you are invited to on arrival which has the same buffet food but they get all the staff in to sing you a welcome song and then give you information on things to do on the island along with some discounts. We used this to book a night at the magic show they have there which was a bit of fun. This place is an older style resort - a little tired but clean and neat and the staff are all great. If you want five star service then this is not the place for you. They will give you a value for money holiday in a great area with genuine Hawaiian hospitality. Easy walk down to Whalers Village for restaurants and shopping. Trolley / buses to go into Lahaina and wander around. Every morning in the lobby there were stalls selling local made products to buy. A nice, relaxing holiday in a great area. Aloha.

Stayed 5 nights on our honeymoon. Truth be told got off to a rocky start with a problem with our room. But this was rectified swiftly and the new room was fantastic with views of the sea and mountains. Super friendly and welcoming staff at all levels. Food was great and evening entertainment great. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is paradise in my opinion. Excellent amenities close by and an maxing beach. We really hope we can come back one day.

We just returned from our 7th visit at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel! Again and always, the amenities were terrific and the staff so genuine, friendly, and helpful. And over the years, the dining has improved - we enjoyed two evening meals at KBH. Beverley in reservations is the paragon of the Hawaiian spirit, Dale (Tike Bar) makes the best (and affordable) drinks, and the plush gardens are unequalled at the other over-crowded hotels.

Room Tip: You have a choice of 'views' - the garden/ocean view is magic!
