We stayed here Nov 2013. Good location , Beach front room was old but good and nice size. It was expensive given rest of the average facilities in the hotel. No room service!. Breakfast was good. But lunch was like a fast-food type service. Dinner was ok. Lulu was by the same children's group that gave program in next door shopping complex. It is a good for children's quality but one expects more seasoned artists .EMcee was making often poor jokes. Do not waste your time (unless you have plenty to burn) on attending send-off greeting where you need to listen their promotion and get a $3 worth beads necklace. If there is a next trip to Maui we will choose different hotel. . .

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights for part of our honeymoon. Firstly our room was upgraded from a garden view to a pool view with a view of the sea through the trees. The room was large and the lanai lovely. It was clean. The hotel is a little dated but it has a very hawaiian feel. The staff are very friendly. The location is great for whalers village which is less than a 10 min walk it's also great for black rock and it's worth walking round the other side of the Sheraton as the beach on that side is less busy and very picturesque with good snorkeling.
We would recommend this hotel its not the most luxurious but great value, clean with a fab location. Only negatives were the tiki grill and restaurant the food was poor and not worth eating at especially when there are restaurants in whalers village and countless in Lahaina. Also the expensive wi-fi which we only used once, its $10 for the day and only works near the pool.We would stay here again.

We got married at Kapalua Bay on May 23. My fiancé left pretty much all the trip planning up to me. KBH came up in one of my many searches for lodging. We wanted some place near the beach, but also with a pool. I had read a few reviews that were less than stellar...mostly because KBH is an older property. However, we were very pleased with our room, and the grounds. Yes, the hotel is older, but we didn't find it to be run down. The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained.

The breakfast buffet was not great. The hot food was warm at best. The pastry and fruit were really good, though. The restaurant is open air, which we enjoyed, but I could see where some may not like the birds that fly through pretty freely.

We liked the ease of getting in and out of the resort area and how close Lahaina and Front Street were.

We would stay at KBH, again. If you are looking for a high end, fancy hotel, this isn't the place for you. However, if you want to hear the waves crash on the beach, smell and see the beautiful plumeria trees, enjoy a nice pool area, the KBH may just be your spot!

Previous reviews stated this hotel needed updates and we agree. But the service was absolutely great including valet, housekeeping, restaurants, Tiki Bar & Tiki Grill, and reception. Their aloha ceremony upon checking out was very interesting and made you feel very much ohana (family)! Located right on the beach near very good snorkeling at Black Rock and several restaurants. We would stay there again! As a side note, they were upgrading some items while we were there like HD TV and perhaps wireless in the pool area.

Room Tip: Over 60 so were upgraded to partial ocean view for no added cost (availability permitting). Not sur...

The KBH is located in the heart of Kaanapali. While it has restaurants, you can also easily walk to enjoy the other restaurants of Kaanapali and Whalers Village. The room decor could use updating and one of the buildings does not seem to have an elevator(that I could find) but its comfortable, relaxed and good value for the money. If you want the newest, flashiest hotel on the island, this is not your hotel. But if you want an enjoyable Hawaiian experience with a chance to relax and enjoy the island, this is a great choice. By the way, I don't remember how many times we have stayed there, but its probably close to 10 over the last 15 years.

Room Tip: Many of the pool or garden view rooms have partial ocean views.

The staff at KBH is so friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the bell desk to housekeeping, everyone is an ambassador of aloha. The Ho'okipa Desk set up the tee times at multiple courses a month in advance for our 8 golfers. They made everything so easy for us.

We stayed in the Maui building, room 534. Wonderful view of the grounds and ocean. The room & lanai look straight out (not sideways) to the ocean. Just delightful.

The grounds at KBH breathe tranquility. For families, in addition to the pool & beach, there is also plenty of play space.

With the paved footpath on the ocean side of the property, walking everywhere is simple. Whalers Village with its shops, restaurants, ice cream store is a only a hop, skip, and a jump away. There is a shuttle bus that departs from Whalers Village that stops at the Lahaina Cannery Mall and Lahaina town. Price is $2 each way & exact fare required.

Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is an excellent value and is welcoming for couples, families, golfers.

Room Tip: Upper floors (5 & 6) of the Maui wing have excellent views of the grounds and ocean.

I stayed here for a week in May 2014! Overall great experience, location, is right on the ocean! Great brunch every morning! Definitely a Hawaiian atmosphere, beautiful grounds!! My only recommendation would be to update the rooms decor (a little out dates). But the size of rooms was very comfortable, bathroom was nice, water pressure in the showers was perfect! Walls were a little thin, to hear the neighbors next door, but not bother some. Overall I would recommend this place to others.
