CHECK IN AND OUT
All went smoothly with no issues or surprises. The room safe rental is not included in your daily room rate, but is only $1.50 a day. Valet parking is available for $12.00 per day.

ROOMS AND GROUNDS
We found both to be very clean and well maintained. The staff in all areas were pleasant and helpful and all greeted you in passing. This hotel would likely be a good choice for a family as it had most amenities you might want, and yet is not a very large or "busy" hotel.

DINING
There isn't a lot to choose from on the premises, but the hotel does have a buffet serving three meals a day as well as the Tiki Grill (good for fast food items) and the Tiki Bar for your beverages. We had daily breakfast at the buffet and although not large in selections was certainly adequate. If you feel the need for a change, Whalers Village is a short five minute stroll away along the beach. There you will find a large variety of dining alternatives as well as about 90 shops selling a wide variety of merchandise-including an ABC store for those little necessities. We tried the Hula Grill and Leilani's On The Beach. Both had excellent service and food, but required a wait to get a table. The fish dishes were great at both.

IN GENERAL
I'd say that this is a very comfortable relaxed hotel to stay at. Everything seemed to shut down around ten at night, but if you are looking for an active night life, you'll probably go to a different hotel (or island). And contrary to a previous reviewer, there apparently is WiFi but only in a specific location with a password that you get from the check in desk. I don't feel that you would be unhappy staying here as it is reasonably priced and offers many tours and recreational opportunities available in the area.

This place was amazing, It has an awesome beach, I can't comment on the pool as we spent all our time in the ocean. There is an ocean front walk way the length of the beach that takes you in front all of the resorts on the waterfront. It has two restaurants, one is a nice buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the other more formal for evenings. The grounds are beautifully done and there is also nightly entertainment. A luau is held once a week. If you golf, there is a great course right across the street, it also has nice walking paths. On one side you have the mountains and on the other the beach, it was a great place to spend our 25th anniversary.

It was gorgeous! We originally got the pool to look at or so we thought but we were right on the edge so we could see the ocean the beautiful sunsets such an amazing view! when we first got there the vallet parking was just remarkable. The staff were wonderful. Helped us on any recommendations. The room was lovely!! I could have stayed there forever. If you are going with a family, this is the hotel to choose. They have great kid friendly activities right behind it. There are also stores inside the hotel that you can look at and they have mobile sellers in the morning. The first morning you stay, you get a free breakfast to tell you all about Maui. It was very knowledgeable. To figure out the weather look outside do not watch the television haha. It was so wonderful to watch the all the native Hawaiians dancing. They give you certificates after each dance session then they also tell you what your name means in Hawaiian! It was such a wonderful learning experience and to be able to be in walking distance of such a beautiful beach was amazing. Will most definitely come back again!

The only issue is when check in, we were not given the room as booked from Costco, we asked 2 queen beds room but got room with 1 king and 1 twin, the reason told was that it's not guaranteed of bed type, that was not an ideal answer we would like to hear, but anyway, with a rollaway bed added, we accepted anyway. Once we settle down the things become all positive, beautiful beach, Hawaiian culture, friendly staff, nice service, more than what I expected for the stay, highly recommend!

After 3 days in Honolulu and how insane the island of Oahu was, we came to Maui and the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel to get a sense of the real Hawaii I was expecting. No tourist traps, right on the beach and quiet.

The room we had was a garden view room on the bottom floor and was fine for what we needed except for the lack of fridge which was disappointing.

The tiki bar was amazing and a great way to relax by the pool or the massive garden to read, not to mention it is right on the beach

My wonderful husband surprised me at Christmas with a trip to Hawaii. First five days on Maui at the Kaan'apali Beach Hotel
Room was very nice, clean and had a view of the ocean. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.
We a had a great time at the Dinner and Magic show that was in the Hotels theatre.
We enjoyed everything there was to see. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I actually went there in March of 2008.

Only reason for 4/5 rating was the slow draining tub/shower. Price for the location is unmatched. Grounds beautiful-oceanfront with views of Lanai and Molokai with sunset between both islands every evening!
