“Quiet, good food, not quite our pace though”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

We stayed here for 6 nights for a wedding. The highlight was definitely the beautiful wedding and the great restaurant! We soon discovered there was no good nightly entertainment, also I couldn't swimming because of surgery so we search for other activities and they had advertised a rec room with fooseball but it was locked, mini golf was okay. We stayed In an outdated room and every morning there were ants all over our cans of pop or if any food was left out there were tons of ants! To Golf at there nearby course was very over priced and the roads around the island made us severely road sick. In all I think we will stick to an all inclusive Mexico trip next year.

Room Tip: The flight and roads made us very sick, in all maui is over priced and boring. Go to Mexico all incl...

we actually picked this resort based on Tripadvisor reviews prior so THANK YOU! We were here for 5 days. First of all, we booked a garden view room only...we checked in and they upgraded us for free up to an ocean front studio #24.....oh...my...God! a full kitchen, PLENTY OF SPACE, and a patio that literally opens to the beauty of Napili Bay. Free parking at this resort, free snorkel gear, free mini golf, free beach towels. Highly recommend the Sea House restaurant onsite. we had dinner twice and breakfast once and and each time it was fantastic. I had a ribeye steak, veggie omelette, and crusted ahi tuna (in order of visits). once you get here, just wander the grounds...take it in....i have never stayed (or probably ever will stay at a more beautiful resort). first morning there, we signed out our free snorkel gear and yes...in napili bay, around 8 am, we snorkeled with massive morning Sea Turtles!!! incredible. pretty much every day there you could see Humpback whales playing out in the ocean. Magical. Now, for any of you partiers this is not the place for you. It is a quiet resort, seems to mostly serve an older and more monied clientele (that's not us lol..we are mid 30s and poor), but we LOVE quiet solitude and beauty. this was it!!! great resort in Maui

We just spent a wonderful week at Napili Kai Puna II #240. Very Quiet, private, oceanfront with a gorgeous view. It is a little more work to reserve a specific unit but well worth it. This unit has been renovated, granite counters, updated electronic curtains and well-stocked. We felt very cared for by the staff and found wonderful restaurants both on site and close near by. The neighborhood has a great supermarket with fresh produce so you really can use the kitchen if you like. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Away from the beach are quieter areas, although you need to walk a little to enjoy the beach.

I agree with all the positive things others have already raved about. We stayed in a 1 bedroom ocean front unit, and really appreciated the air conditioning.I wasn't aware that for an extra charge you could reserve a particular building or room, but I will likely do this on our next visit,as some buildings appear to offer more privacy than others. However it is the history of this place that differentiates it from other resorts. It is very interesting, and well worth reading the book about it supplied in the rooms. It really is the history of tourism and development in Maui, and as a Canadian,I was impressed to find that the original owners/ developers with tremendous vision, were also Canadians. I met folks from all over North America who had been coming here for close to 50 years! The owners set up the Napili Kai Foundation, now supported in part by guests, that gives academic support to employees children. The activities here are wonderful, especially the Monday afternoon "Putting Party" with 50 cent drinks! I believe this, with the welcome "Mai Tai" party, have been offered for decades. The staff is wonderful, and when our flight was cancelled, easily accommodated us for an extra night,at an "emergency" rate. For an extra "treat" I recommend Demming's Delivery Service, which has a great relationship with Napili Kai,and will stock your fridge for your arrival. We have stayed at 2 other very nice spots in West Maui in the past , but will return here.

Room Tip: The "Puna" buildings put you close to the entrance to Kapalua beach, which is also good fo...

We had 4 days in this little paradise!!Hotels has complex of 2 floors villages, so it is not high, that makes it very cosy and nice. All rooms are renewed and have kitchen corner and all needed dishes, what is very comfortable. The beach was perfect, it is like a lagoon, very clear water and sand, sometimes you can even watch whales from the beach. You have chance to do your own grill on the territory of the hotel, we had wonderful romantic dinner, which we made ourselves. It is good located, you need only 15 min to go to Lahaina town, with is nice for shopping and cruises like whale watching and snorkelling.I we'll be some day back to Maui, we will definitely come back to this hotel.

Just got back from an 11 night trip to Maui and we stayed in a few different hotels, all of them were great but this place is beautiful and a great value. They don't nickle and dime you for parking, internet or anything else other than your room rate. They have free mini golf, which my kids loved, free coolers you can borrow (what a great idea!), free cultural lectures every morning, free snorkeling equipment and even a free Mai Thai party every Wed night!

This resort is located on a gorgeous, crescent shaped beach that is great for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling. What I really loved most about this place was our lanai, which was just a stone's throw from the bay. THey have high quality patio furniture, with two comfy chairs and ottomans. Believe me, sitting on the lanai looking out at the water is heavenly.

The other thing that sets this place apart is how much space you have. Our 1 bedroom was huge- our boys had their own bedroom with twin beds, we had our own bedroom plus a full size kitchen that has nicer, newer appliances than we have at home. I understand that the place was recently renovated, as you can see from my photos- it is beautifully designed and decorated.

I also attended the slack key show on Wed night, which is outstanding. Highly recommend this place!

We have stayed at several different locations in Maui and have decided to make Napili Kai Beach Resort our yearly Maui destination. This year we will be the fourth visit. Like last it will be for 15 days. I unlike some others have no issues at all with the room interiors. They are not the most modern or elegant yet they are very comfortable and are kept very clean and stocked. The Maids are very friendly and do a very good job. Couple of things that convinced us to come back:

Staff. They go the extra mile to make the stay very enjoyable. Smiles and friendly greetings are meant, not just given. They work very hard to insure everyone's stay is wonderful. We really appreciate that. No beach is better on Maui. Calm / clear waters for snorkeling. Just steps from the Resort and the beaches are kept very clean and comfortable. There are even Turtles. The resort grounds are very well maintained. The views, wow, so many beautiful sunsets. The restaurant is very good and the pupus during happy hour are delicious. Entertainment plentiful. The only negative, and it is a small one, is the parking. At times, mostly on the weekends, it can be a bit difficult. We always found a place to park, but with a larger vehicle, for two couples, it can be a real tight squeeze.

All in all We have found our paradise and will be staying there for many years to come.
