We stayed at this hotel as an offer of $109 a night came up and it was well worth it. The staff was absolutely great and accomodated everything we asked for, particularly since we needed an accessible room. The beds were soooooooooooooooooooooooooo comfortable and the location and access to view the ocean were very nice. The food was a bit pricey ($3 for small bottle of water in the room) and a la carte but it is a resort after all. The area itself was fantastic, great places to eat, (Ruby Lee's and Roast Fish and Grill) and good shopping, we even bought fresh off the boat shrimp. Cannot wait to go back.

Room Tip: Get the Ocean view

This was our 3rd stay here in 3 or 4 years and we were here for 2 weeks. We asked for a mountain view room and were upgraded to a recently renovated ocean view room. Our travel papers indicated that work was ongoing to change out the balcony railings. However, they were actually totally gutting each floor and rebuilding from scratch. Lots of noise and dust. And the new rooms were nicely finished but smaller and very poorly insulated for sound. We could hear normal conversations in the rooms around us and people using the toilets at night and in the mornings. Noise from the hallways was also extreme and we were awakened before 7 a.m. on most mornings. Last time the rooms were older but they were quiet, had 2 sinks, and a place to sit other than the deck. The front desk personnel were excellent, as were the greeters and parking staff. Some of the house keeping staff were surprisingly rude. There is still free parking here (Thank you!!) but the spaces are very tight and it was sometimes hard to get out of the car. Maybe this will improve when construction ends. The pool area were still very nice and we loved the adult pool. The bar was nice too. Food was just okay and I would suggest eating elsewhere. The Hula Grill next door is very nice. Kudos to Yurika at the front desk, Lupe, an excellent and very personable server around the adult pool, and Virginia, one of our housekeepers. These people made our stay much more enjoyable.

Room Tip: If on the pool side get a room about the 4th floor. Very noisy birds in the p.m. and a.m. Mountain...

I stayed here for a night this past weekend, and wish I could have stayed for much longer!! Overall I was very happy with this hotel. I got one of the new rooms overlooking the parking lot and the mountains. I did see/ hear construction noise, but at no point was it distracting. The decor was nice and updated. I have a Heavenly bed at home, so I was expecting - and received - comfort in my sleep. The shower was not as strong as I had hoped - the water kind of dribbled out in the morning. But it was still fine and I got clean.
Overall, I loved the location of this hotel. I took many walks on the beach, and it was beautiful. The pool was fun. I had some mai tails during the happy hour at the pool bar, which were delicious. One thing - which is probably not surprising. Food prices were expensive. I skipped the $28 buffet breakfast and went to the starbucks... nearly $10 for a large coffee. I was visibly shocked. Also, I thought some of the in-room movies were expensive. Good choices, but I paid $17 to watch Elysium.
All in all, it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back - just be ready for some steep prices on things you wouldnt expect to be so pricey.. but this is Hawaii so I guess that's the way it is.

Room Tip: I had a room on the 9th floor overlooking the mountains in the Ocean Building. Beautiful view. The...

This is a terrific hotel that had excellent service and great amenities in Maui. We were there for the Maui Invitational basketball tournament and had stayed eight years earlier at the Ritz Carlton, which seemed a little dated and run down at the time (it may well have been renovated since then.) I generally like Westins, so we chose this for our stay this time. The spa and fitness center is large for a hotel and really nice, and free if you are platinum (I think $25 charge for the spa otherwise.) The breakfast buffet, which was part of the travel package we had, was huge and quite good. Valet parking can sometimes be a problem at big hotels, but was really speedy. Everywhere on the property, the service was excellent.

The property was recently undergoing renovations and we were put into a newly remodel area. It was very nice. The pools are very nice they are more or less interconnected. We like the fact that there is an adult only section. We also enjoyed getting an umbrella and chairs at the beach. I recommend going early to reserve one.

Loved the location and the excellent resort facilities. It seemed strange to have to pay a resort fee for parking, towels, etc. Why not just include this in the rate for the hotel? I loved all the little features like flamingos and parrots and the best was having an adult pool. We found going to hotels down the road was a better deal for meals because paying $28.50 for a breakfast buffet that most hotels include with the room is crazy. We were given an upgraded room facing the resort but it was next to the elevator shaft which was very loud. Once we realized it wasn't thundering, we accepted it. Parking was difficult, but I would come back here.

Have stayed here for four consecutive years and, upon arriving this year, was THRILLED to discover Westin has finally invested in the rooms here. The property (common areas) has always been very good - and now, thankfully, the rooms are on par with the rest of the hotel. As of late November, the renovation was still under way - however, there were no issues in staying here while this was ongoing (ie. no noise problems or whatnot). Our room had been completely redone - looked like a brand new room! Yay! Also improved (though it could have been because part of the hotel was closed due to renovations) was the checkin/out process, which had been pretty painful and lengthy in the past. Zipped in, zipped out - no problems at all. Dining here remains solid (if overpriced) and the location is very good. Now, if we can just get the Westin to address the parking woes (spaces are sized for a Mini Cooper, at best) ...
