Review of The Bay Course

The Bay Course

Attraction details
Owner description: The Bay Course opened in 1975 and in that time has hosted over 20 major professional tournaments - the most of any neighbor island course in the state of Hawaii. From the first live prime-time televised event in golf at the 1983 Kapalua International to the Kapalua LPGA classic some 25 years later, The Bay Course has consistently faced the best players in golf and withstood the test of time and technology. The Bay Course is a championship course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. Known for its breathtaking 5th hole, the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui, it should certainly be on the "must play" list for any golfer visiting Maui.

Since this part of the island is extremely windy, and the bermuda in the rough is very tall, is very easy to lose your golf balls. Ups, downs, hills. Very entertaining course. Practice your chipping before playing.

“Nice course free for juniors after 2.30 pm”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

This course is great for good and practicing golfers, with some great holes near the sea. After 2.30 pm Juniors are free which is a good bonus as golf round here is not cheap. My husband and son managed to get 15 holes in one day and 9 the next. Note you have to have a buggy but it comes in with the price. The club house is good too.

This beautiful course is on the west side of Maui. Most of the holes give you a spectacular view of the ocean, neighboring Molokai'i, breaching whales, all of which are very distracting. The course is not too difficult, my wife likes it because it is woman friendly.
The staff in the pro shop were welcoming as were the kids who put the clubs on the carts and clean the clubs. The driving range is included but know that you are hitting a wiffle ball which obviously doesn't allow accurate shots, but at least you can warm up.
This is a busy resort course; we were paired with another couple and were able to finish in about 4 hours. Plan to pay over $200 per person to play this course, it is worth every dime.

“Great Course and fun”

Always love playing courses that have a few holes on the ocean. Good elevation changes to the course and greens were awesome.
