Stayed in the Konea tower in a 3 br 3 bath with Viking grill on lanai.. Accommodations were spectacular.. We booked through kanapali beach rentals and knew our exact unit .. 351 Konea was amazing.. View was awesome, amenities were awesome.. Through the resort our unit or similar was $ 12,000 per week.. We paid 8,000 and knew our exact unit.. Resort is beautiful.. I loved the Konea tower because it was farther away from kiddie pools and we traveled with 5 20 something's...view was amazing and never ever noticed the smell others mentioned.. We spent our first week at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua and then met our kids here.. I've stayed all over Hawaii in condos and this unit was by far the best we've ever had!!

We stayed in the Konea tower in condo 510. The condo was fantastic. It was great renting directly from the buyers and the condo was perfect for families in a prime location. Our condo came stocked with Bosch appliances, silverware, plates, towels, sheets, washer, and dryer. The kitchen was very nice and a great money saver. The view of the mountains was magnificent. The door out to the deck opened into a huge screen wall that was great to bring in the breeze. The resort was located on an incredible beach and had many pools to choose from. There are also grills so you can BBQ. Duke's is alright but very overpriced and we preferred eating out away from the resorts. Condo 510 is also located near the elevator which is very convenient. Its worth paying for parking in the underground garage. During our stay we supposedly violated a condo rule by leaving our bathing suits out to dry and received a letter. We were unaware of this rule. Bring snorkeling equipment because the condo location is near some incredible snorkeling sites including the must see Black Rock.Overall our stay was great at Honua Kia resort thanks to condo 510.

Room Tip: Konea Tower condo 510 is excellent

We stayed at the Honua Kai May9-16 My husband, myself and my 90yr old mother stayed in a 2 bedroom unit over looking a waterfall, grounds and West Maui Mts. The unit had a huge lani with comfortable chairs to relax in and outside the kitchen was a full dinning table with chairs. It had sliding doors that open completely. Both bedrooms had King beds, full bathrooms. Kitchen had every thing you needed to cook in. Top of the line. We went to Dukes once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both very good. WE would defiantly go back.

We loved the Honua Kai during our 7 day stay. The one bedroom apartment was perfect for the two of us. The unit was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. It was a little home-away-from-home. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Ali at the front desk was very helpful when we checked out. We highly recommend the Honua Kai to future vacationers.

We loved this resort! Firstly, our 2 bedroom condo was fantastic! It was spacious, had a lovely view and was everything we dreamt it would be. It is the type of condo that we will hold as a future benchmark. The resort itself was very well maintained and we loved all the pools and the water slide. Dukes was also a great spot for cocktails and lunch. A

We saw a couple of the other resorts and hotels that made the shortlist while we were there. We were so glad that we picked the Honua Kai in the end! Great location, lovely resort. One tip I will give is that I think that this is perfect for families, but if I was a couple on a honeymoon I would have been disappointed. We loved that there was lots of kids for our daughter to make friends with, but if you were on your honeymoon the resort would perhaps feel busy and filled with too many kids.

We stayed at a 3-bedroom apartment for a week; my family of 4, my parents and my sister's family of 3. We had the most relaxing time at Honua Kai. The rooms were spacious, kitchen and its appliances was top notch, we love the toiletteries (aveda rosemary mint) - Amazing smell!
The cleaner comes everyday to tidy up.
The only complain was the AC, for some reason it kept playing up while we were there, so we turn it on and all of a sudden it was off by itself (the whole apartment). We have to call up a few times to get this one fixed.

Swimming pools were great, for kids and adults. Beach was clean and nice smooth sand. They had a Bbq facility that we used one time - great to enjoy the sunset while having dinner.

The Duke's restaurant is also very good, live music and good food.

We returned last night having spent 2 weeks in Konea Tower, unit 346 which we rented via VRBO. The 1 bedroom condo was spotlessly clean and with thoughtful amenities. For example, they provided 2 days' worth of coffee, paper towels, Maui Revealed guide book and lots of maps, beach toys, flippers, water shoes, 4 beach chairs and 4 great beach towels. Plenty of bathroom and kitchen towels as well. Our 2 kids joined us for one week and we still had enough towels. In addition, laundry soap and dishwasher and dish soap were provided. The building garbage was just down the hall as was recycling. There were a number of cockroaches in the garbage chute room and could be avoided with a good cleaning. The unit overlooks the ocean by 1/4 view and another condo and a parking lot. This was fine as the lot was quiet and there was a peak-a-boo view between the other resort the unit faces. It isn't an ocean front but a very, very partial ocean view. The pools were varied and lots of fun. Many happy families and it was fun to see the kids having a great time. Many people go down to the pool early to put towels on chairs, saving them from use for sometimes up to two hours. Dukes Restaurant/bar on-site has a great happy hour with fabulous bartenders! The wait staff is kind of grumpy though. It is a +45 minute walk to Whaler's Village and provided some good, daily exercise. The Hula Grill there has excellent fish burgers and the view is stunning. The beach at Honua Kai is rocky but a short walk past the Westin to the Airport Beach has fewer rocks. Ten more min past is Black Rock, a fabulous snorkle site. In Lahaina Kemo's is a spectacular place for happy hour, right on the water. Also had a tremendous meal at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Cheeseburger in Paradise, not so good. The view at Sea House in Napilii was gorgeous but an older crowd, would not go again, very outdated and crabby waitstaff. The Honua Kai Resort is a great choice via VRBO. Parking is $15/day, a real bargain on Maui. No daily resort fee and no daily maid service since this was booked through Maui Blue and privately owned. The resort is clean and near a Times market and the typical ABC store. Nearby is the best BBQ, just north a few blocks. All in all a great choice for a special celebration. The rates were typical, $340/night and $175/cleaning fee. It was worth the price this time but I know more reasonable rates can be found if one doesn't need a big pool. The pool here is broken up into 3 different parts. Has a very small slide and a lazy river that really isn't a river at all, more like a one way canal, doesn't move and not a full circle. You can get drink service but lots of people were drinking their own drinks. Kiosk staff extremely aggressive trying to sell $300.00 sunglasses. And I do mean persistent, one actually followed me back to my chair/towel, yikes. The small deli had great lattes, and very pricey breakfast burritos ($10.00) and yummy cinnamon rolls. The Java Jive across the street had a good, reasonably priced breakfast. The concierge was helpful but did not have correct information regarding touring Molokai. One said there wasn't a tour trip and one said there was. Pretty simple to figure out. The beach here is lovely to sit on and watch the world go by. A good choice for the money and well worth it. Only a 10 min drive to Lahaina. Get a map that shows free parking lots.

Room Tip: Partial view means that. Many decks not very private. Good location. Rocky beach. View of parking lo...
