We had stayed in Kaanapali for 2 weeks and everyday while traveling to towns were in search for a good Americano, the coffee shops we visited had bitter, poor tasting coffee. On our last day someone suggested Espresso Italiano for the best coffee and said don't blink or you'll miss it.They were right, the shop is small, but size isn't everything! The owner makes up for it in personal truly friendly service. We ordered our Americano's and 2 pieces of her homemade european cakes. We sat at outside talbes and enjoyed the coffee that was so smooth, not bitter. The european cakes were true to european form, flavorful and hearty and a good match with the coffee. The saddest thing about this experience was it was our last day. However, we were able to bring her specially roasted coffee beans home to enjoy, which by the way is as awesome as in the shop for flavor. This lady knows how to roast coffee beans! Hawaii should hire her as the official state roaster and save all those Hawaiin bean blends that haven't met this level of quality.
