One of the pluses of playing either Kaanapali course is the beauty of the ocean, mountains, and manicured grounds. These are also negatives because for those easily distracted by such sights, your game may suffer. Lots of sand traps placed on the fairways and around the greens. If you miss the fairway, the rough is "rough" to get out of. It is a forgiving course with wide fairways, yet some tighter shots can add strokes when least expected. Yes, it is a resort course and is easy enough for you to want to return, yet tough enough to provide a challenge. Staff is great and fees are reasonable considering it is Maui. Speed of play was just right.
