UNIT #272 - Not all amenities are important to every guest. So in order to offer a universal review that will benefit the largest segment of prospective guests I will cover what I thought was the GOOD, the TOLERABLE and the UGLY.
Outstanding views (could not have been better) I was able to snap photos of my family snorkeling, kayaking and swimming from our lanai - Outstanding location for those who come for beach time without the hubbub of local nightlife and shoppers in your face all the time. Everything we needed (groceries, shopping, restaurants, sailing etc) was just a short 10-15 minute drive. The ocean and beach were great - we kayaked with the turtles and I mean a LOT of turtles! The furnishings were comfortable and we felt at home. We all loved our stay in spite of the few unpleasantries that occurred. Great patio furnishings which made our time there wonderful. There IS AIR CONDITIONING! There is internet and we brought our own wireless router.
Parking was an issue. There simply is not enough of it when you come home late at night. The elevator in building #2 is S L O W !!!! The towels are not plentiful and were shabby. No hair dryer! REALLY??? There were three blenders but not a $8 hairdryer to be found - ridiculous! Check-in was extremely slow!
We were in Maui for a family wedding - we needed laundry facilities! We arrived on a Wednesday and did not have a working dryer until the following Monday afternoon. Totally unacceptable. Management wanted us to come and get a key to another unit (each time) and then cart our laundry up and down flights to get it washed and dried. who wants to spend a half day of their vacation doing that? We asked for a laundry service or a concession on our room rate but never received either. The dishwasher was disgusting and didn't clean a thing and so loud that we didn't want to use it while we were in the unit. The clothes washer sounded a if it would take off for orbit at any moment. The short and sweet - the appliances SUCK!!! The washer, dryer and dishwasher should all be replaced! The tile floors were DISGUSTING! I MOPPED THEM MYSELF BECAUSE NO ONE WANTED TO GO BAREFOOT AS THE OWNERS REQUEST. The small lanai was not useable do to a spider infestation. We left the door shut and wouldn't open it for fear they would find their way into the second bedroom.
With everything in perspective - the unit is not my home and is a rental. With the owners not on site many things will be overlooked. Management needs to pay closer attention and the owners need to be made aware of issues in order to hold management accountable.
