“Beautiful, Relaxing and Comfortable”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

The facilities and service received during our stay at the Villas were very good, from check in with Boyd who put us in a very nice room, to the reservation made for us at Mama's Fish House, by our concierge Caroline; thank you both for the service you provided us.

The staff I passed throughout the facility provided directions and were very friendly.
We stayed in 6129, a one bedroom unit in the North facility, where it was quite with a beautiful view of gardens right off the patio.

There are play areas for children in the South facility courtyard pool which is right next door. Thanks to Boyd we were in the North area at an inner portion of the facility which gave us less people traffic than an ocean view room or a room located by the pool. It was relaxing & peaceful during our whole stay. The room was spacious especially the bedroom which was very nice.

My only issues were the glass window between the bedroom and the bathroom; I'm an early riser and turning on the light, lit up the bedroom which didn't make my spouse happy. The mattress needed to be turned because it had the usual rut from not being turned. When we turned it; there was little benefit as it hadn't been done in such a long time, if ever. The last item is the toilet isn't secure to the floor (works great) just rocks a little when you initially sit down, needs attention.

I received a massage on the last day from Luis from Columbia, (thank you sir) I only wish that I could of gotten a late check-out to enjoy all the other features of the spa for a longer period of time. The staff in the spa were friendly and pleasant as well.

My only disappointed was that I couldn't take advantage of the offer to purchase a unit because of business opportunities we're currently involved in. We will return to Maui and would hope to become an owner in the future.

Room Tip: Then North facility is the newer of the two facilities and has some features that the south doesn...

We've stayed at the Westin at Kaanapali beach 5 times over the last 8 years, we just love it. The location is amazing, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the amenities are exactly what we need on our Hawaiian vacations. We were there just last week, while on Maui we drove down to the Wailea area for a day trip, now I am more convinced than ever that Kaanapali is the best place to stay on the island, it doesn't seem to be as crowded or touristy as other areas. As a plus you can take some pretty great photos right from your lanai. Can't wait until our next trip there!

Pros: This is a great location, Lahaina is close to everything, transportation easy, beach is beautiful, whales right out front breaching--soooo awesome. Concierge is the best I've ever experienced in my travels, very educated. Pool is beautiful, ocean snorkelling is good. Bring your own equipment. You'll use it.
The truth: This hotel is partly a time share hotel. They push the timeshare hard here. Don't get caught up in it. The buildings are long rectangular buildings facing the pool, going away from the ocean. The end of the buildings are full ocean view units but are taken by time share people. The next best rooms are taken by time share people. Most units look at the pool with a peek at the ocean. Building 4 looks at two parking lots with a peak of the ocean. This hotel is not designed for what we vacationers are truly looking for--true full ocean views. However, the Westin wants to charge for a full ocean view. Not fair. We paid full ocean view prices, our travel agent phoned directly to ask if they were true ocean and Westin said yes. Look at all the reviews, "Ocean Peak, Not Ocean View", "Your room location is Really Key" "Nice Property, just a few Issues", they all confirm this. Hotel staff tell us the travellers complain about this continually. Westin, you need to be honest and change the pricing schedule for the ocean views. People pay big money in hopes of having their dream of a full ocean view. For us, we waited for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in hopes of this dream Hawaiian View and we paid for it. We didn't get it cause it doesn't exist at Kaanapali. We paid for 5-star, this hotel needs repairs, has problems. This hotel is a 3 star so if you stay here, pay for a pool front 3 star room and you'll be happy. The great reviews come from time share people who get first priority.

We had a fantastic time in Lahaina.

Room Tip: Do not pay extra money for a full ocean view. Most rooms have a peak of ocean, some have parking lot...

Leaving today. We stayed here for my son's Make a Wish Trip!! The staff were beyond excellent! The rooms were spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. One of our favorite moments was the "Cultural Greeting" my son received from the staff. Brought me to tears, so heartfelt and sincere! There was definitely a feeling of being with family!! If we ever make it back to Maui we will stay here in a heartbeat!! Experience of a lifetime!!

The Westin Villa is a nice property. These are condos with small kitchens but you do have a fridge, microwave, and stove. And a washer and dryer. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. One weird thing sticks out, not enough trash cans. It didn't bother us enough to ask for another but we both commented on it. The workout facility is fine, pools are nice, and the restaurants are good too. We liked the staff and breakfast outside was very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a lanai large enough to have a meal on.

This is a nice resort. The rooms are spacious and the bed & bedding are very comfortable as well. The bathroom is huge...nice walk-in shower with a separate jacuzzi tub. We stayed in the South building in a studio. One thing I did not like was that there are no balconies in the studio rooms. There is a sliding glass door but no room to stand or sit outside. Overall, it was a nice vacation spot. There were several grills you could use and a nice pool area as well.

Room Tip: I would recommend trying to stay on the 5th or 6th floor for a better ocean view. We stayed on the...

Prior to my stay I read many reviews that knocked the stay due to being a "Timeshare". I had the opportunity to go from my villa complex to a local Hotel. I would much rather have this peaceful atmosphere than the hustle and bustle of the hotel. I am not an owner here only a visitor. But, I can tell you if you are going to Hawaii. You are goIng for a little peace. Not to be part of a swarm of people. During our stay a group of juvenile whales came very close to our beach. There isn't ever a guarantee that this would ever happen during your stay.
Everyone was very friendly and courteous.
On Wednesday night at the Ocean Bar & Grill Is All you can eat Crab legs. They were cooked well and a great value.
