We just came back from our May 23-30th stay at KOR and after reading many reviews about the kids, parking, etc the only negative I could find was the abundance of kids. We don't have children so prefer not to be overwhelmed by them but this didn't take away from the resort or us having a good time. The room was fantastic (Thanks for anything you did for ocean front Krystle) as well as the bathroom, they do leave a vacuum in room to clean up after yourself but wish it hand a wand to it so that you could vacuum up the dirt that gets left in dryer from clothes being at the beach. Restaurant food was very good and having a HOT rate card at 50% off was a blessing.
Pool bar area in North side rocks with newer TV's and Ryan was always upbeat and ready to serve. The shuttle shuttle was great in-between properties when we didn't want to pull then rental out of the garage. Great job staff of Westin KOR!!!

We had stayed here in May 2010 and had a great trip. While we enjoyed the property this visit, it was not the quiet, calm resort we remembered from four years ago. It's apparently become a very popular resort for families with kids, and the vibe has changed. We had read other reviewers' comments about the large presence of families before we decided to book, so we were aware of what we were signing up for but chose to stay here anyway during our honeymoon because we wanted to stay in the Kaanapali area and liked the villa amenities. And I'm an SPG member (which as other reviewers have pointed out, means nothing at this property.) It was a pleasant enough stay but not at all romantic or low key. It felt like an vacation rental rather than a resort stay. They've clearly been successful in selling time share interests, and the resort seemed to be fairly full when we were there. Our feeling was that as the property has become more popular, it has lost a lot of its charm. We ended up going off property rather than stay onsite for meals or activities as we had done on the previous trip. It's a nice property, but if you go, be prepared for an active resort and lots of kids. In the future, I think we will consider other properties.

We check in to an aloha welcome and an ocean view suite, then explored both north and south villas. Love the pools and landscaping, and the great location on Maui's Ka'anapali Coast close to Lahaina but far from the crowds. Another pleasant surprise was the quality of the food and service at the resorts' restaurants. From lunch at Oceans on the south side, to Happy Hour at the beachside sports bar on the north side, we enjoyed every drink an pupu. A special find was the Italian and seafood restaurant on the north side. Being able to walk our your front door and be seated minutes later over-looking the courtyard and koi pond, have a perfectly prepared martini and a scrumptious dinner, is a delightful benefit of the Westin Villas. Another advantage we discovered was taking a ten minute walk north on the beach path and having either breakfast or HH or dinner at Duke's Beach House. Awesome! From Duke's pancakes to their Mai Tai's and pupu platters, another nearby advantage of staying at the Westin Villas. We will return soon, Aloha!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Ocean View and a walk-out onto our lanai and the lawn very close to the adult pool, very quiet and private for breakfast on the lanai.

We came on a Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas Discover package. We paid the extra to have an upgrade to the one bedroom suite. We love it! Jade, at the check in desk, worked very hard to find us our suite. She was very lovely to work with, really showing the aloha spirit.
Lucia, our concierge, was ever so helpful in thoroughly explaining the Villa properties as well as extremely knowledgeable about the island of Maui as a whole. We've had many welcome presentations in our multiple trips to this property but Lucia did the best job bar none!

I stayed here for 5 days and it was fantastic. The resort is right on the beach so it was a short walk over the dune to get to the ocean. My room was at a 90 degree angle to the sea, but I could see it when I looked out the sliding glass window.
The room was big and has a small kitchen area that was convenient for making breakfast or sandwiches for lunch. There was a dishwasher and a very small refrigerator, so be careful buying groceries that need refrigeration/freezer space. There is also a compact washer/dryer which is great for small loads of laundry or to dry bathing suits. The wired internet was fast and worked well for the entire stay. The bathroom was large, but there is only a jacuzzi tub and no shower. Although the tub has a hand shower an actual shower would have been more convenient for a quick wash after being in the ocean or pool.
There are several pools around the complex and they never seemed to be overcrowded. The grounds are well manicured and the landscaping was beautiful. There are a number of restaurants in the resort and a couple of stores for supplies, but I would go to the Safeway down the road where things are a little less expensive. I ate at a couple of the restaurants and the food was very good, and for a resort, the prices were not too bad.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus runs on a regular schedule and can take you to the other properties or into town. The only problem I had was it took over two hours for my luggage and groceries to arrive from the bellhop station. If you buy anything perishable you should take it to your room personally. And if you want to change or go for a swim take those with you too, so you don't have to wait around for the bellhop.
