Description: Right on the water and in the heart of historic Lahaina, Kimo’s brings you and your o’hana (Hawaiian for family) a casual, completely Maui dining experience. Renowned our “postcard” views of Lanai and Molokai, we offer a menu featuring fresh Hawaiian fish, prime rib, prime steaks and the original Hula Pie, Kimo’s has been a Maui must-do for over 30 years. The upstairs main dining room shows the architectural influence of New England on the former whaling port, with koa-lined walls, missionary-style furnishings and maritime memorabilia. After dinner, Kimo’s lanai becomes a very cool hotspot for tropical cocktails and Hawaiian music. Live entertainment is offered on weekends and select week nights.

My family & I have eaten at Kimo’s & a sister property Duke’s dozens of times in the past decade. Here’s my complaint- I am a vegetarian and the only one in my family that is and when I explained to the server I was a vegetarian and had eaten the caprese sandwich (my only menu option for all of these years) & asked the server if they could replace the fish with avocado on the $19 fish tacos his reply was “management has a very strict policy of no substitutions”. The menu hasn’t changed in years so if you are a vegetarian the sandwich picture is your only option... if you are vegan don’t expect them to omit the cheese just pick it off yourself.
Kimo’s if you are reading.... Please add a few vegetarian & gluten free options! Vegetarians are pretty flexible, we have to be when your family wants fish & meat too... just please keep us in mind with menu substitutions.
Tip: ask at your resort if they have a discount card for Kimo’s or Dukes for buy 2 lunch or dinner entrees & get a free Hula Pie. Hula Pie is amazing. It’s a wedge of Lambert’s ice cream with an Oreo crust bottom, topped with hot fudge and macadamia nuts, whipped cream deliciousness. If you visit you have to save room! Big enough for 2-4 people to share.

We were disappointed. Our food was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. One of us wondered whether his specialty cocktail had any alcohol in it. Prices were too high for the quality. Wouldn’t go back.

We visit Kimos every trip to Maui. Always a great meal with a great view! Mahi is always fresh and tasty but perhaps the main reason we visit, is the Hula Pie! OMG!! Very tall macadamia ice cream, fudge drizzle, whip cream and Oreo crust. You think you can’t eat it all, try it!!

Dined at Kimo’s on our last trip to Maui and had a great family meal. Tried it this trip and was disappointed. Just a couples dinner and both of our fish entrees were over cooked and dry. Drinks and Poke app were good.

Kimo's is just one of many seafood restaurants along Front Street in Lahaina. It's pretty difficult to walk far without seeing one. Kimo's is part of a chain of restaurants, but still manages to add some personal charm.

Our fish dinners (marlin and ahi tuna) were great and the service was attentive and efficient. Make reservations if you can, as this place gets busy because of it's excellent location. There's live entertainment in the bar on the main level if you don't want to wait.
