Laihana township is a great place to visit. You can stock up at the local supermarket, go shopping, post your mail, go to the bank, shop for anything you need, visit several galleries, buy pearls, eat ice cream, walk around the harbour, sit on the seawall- there is a little museum too.you can have a drink or great food at the fabulous restaurants on the seafront- Happy Hour a great time to visit! Our absolutely favourite was Fleetwoods on Front Street- two floors with a rooftop bar. Go just before sunset. (This is Mick Fleetwood's restaurant)

“Fun for a shopper like me!!”

So many diverse shops. The art was lovely and lots of goodies around every corner. The food stops kept us going and I can't wait to return.

“After a day at the beach hit Front Street for shopping and eats!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Front Street is a great way to spend a lazy afternoon shopping and taking in the art and Hawaiian culture. There are lots of fabulous jewelry stores, art stores, and trinket shops. There is also a local Harley Davidson shop for those of you who need to have that T-Shirt from every HD shop you find on your vacation. I love, love, love the ABC stores and there are several to visit on Front Street. After shopping you can visit Hard Rock for drinks and then check out one of the many restaurants along Front for a nice dinner. Afterwards you can take a walk over to see the Banyan tree or walk the harbor and check out the boats and historical buildings. It's a great way to spend the day or evening with lots to see and do.

“Full of shopping, art, and good eats, drinks, and history!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

You can fill your day here with breakfast at Cheeseburger in Paradise, and then walk off breakfast on Front St. visiting the local art galleries. Buy your souvenirs at the many shops and visit the historic Banyan Tree at the park by the harbor. Take in all the historic buildings down at that end, Prison St. and Front St. Have your photo taken by the bird man on the corner by the Pioneer Inn. Visit the Pacific Whale Foundation, buy stuff there and some of the proceeds goes towards protecting the whales. Maybe book one of their cruises. I have taken their snorkel cruise to Molokini and it was great!

Are you getting hungry? Good Gelato on the corner of Front. St. and Dickenson. Walk around some more. If you are at the park by the harbor look for the crabs that climb up on the rock wall, or look out in the water for some fins moving about. Often you'll see schools of stingrays swimming about the surface flapping their fins about. This park is a phenomenal place to view and photograph the sunset later in the evening.

Hungry again? Captain Jack's is a great place for lunch. Upstairs across the street from the Pioneer Inn. Fantastic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, awesome steak or fish tacos. I was told their lobster sandwich was to die for!

Go see Jim Kingwell at Kingwell Island Art just 834 Front St. #103 which is down past Cheeseburger in Paradise across from Kimos. Although it is a Front St. address, his actual doorway is on a little lane, Wahie Lane just off Front St. He will answer all your Maui questions, and Lahaina questions. Take in is great art. He will even paint you and your family into one of the local Maui scenes he does!

Must be time for food again! Lahaina Pizza Co. is a great place for dinner. Or feel like some good music and great food? Freshen up and head off to Mic Fleetwood's (yes, THAT Mic Fleetwood) Fleetwood's On Front St. They have a rooftop garden, ocean views, live music. Rock the night away in the tropical Maui breeze. What a way to end a day on Front St.
