The food - served at your table - features (in separate courses) the cuisine of Hawaii, New Zealand, Tahiti and Samoa. The service was extraordinary (Thanks, Mike and Ho'ala.) The dancers were amazing. Probably the highlight of our visit to Maui.

We made reservations well in advance of our recent stay in Maui for the Feast at Lele. Having attended (and enjoyed) the Old Lahaina Luau during a previous trip, we wanted to experience the cuisine of the different Pacific Rim regions and dance that are presented at Lele. The experience exceeded all our expectations- our servers were very attentive and served with a smile. The view of sunset in the harbor set the mood, along with the traditional Hawaiian music played live on the property. Each of the 5 regional cuisines were introduced along with an intro to the type of dance and costume that would be demonstrated. Our table had a great view of the entertainment. Everything, including drinks and dessert were included in the price (except gratuities for the servers). The food was impeccable and the dancers were very talented and entertaining. This was a memorable experience of a lifetime. Mahalo to all who made it magical for us.

I chose this luau becuase of the seating. All the reviews that I read said that the food was the best. I would say that the entertainment got pretty boring after the first few shows. This luau focuses on the food and not the dancing. If you want a more traditional more interactive luau I would not choose this one. If you are looking for something more intimate with some entertainment and good food, this is the ticket. In hind site I wish I had chosen one of the luaus that focused more on the entertainment. The food was ok, not great! We did not eat most of it! Sevice was good and the staff was very efficient! Get a table up front for the best experience.

To say I was disappointed in my experience at Lele is an understatement. We were hesitant to fork out $115 per person for a family of 5, but we were assured that this luau was worth the price in the quality of the food and the quality of the show. We were disappointed on both counts.

First, the food. The food was actually pretty good, but hardly enough to scrape the surface for my 3 teenage boys. The portion sizes were tiny. Although we were told 'unlimited', by the time we could reach our server to get more, he was bringing a new dish with an equally small portion size. After the luau, we actually had to stop and get some food to bring back to the condo because the boys were not satisfied. Dessert was a wasted course for this family - no one enjoyed or ate it.

Now, for the show. The show was pretty interesting, but the experience varied vastly depending on where seated. We happened to get the worst seat in the house - on the third tier (our of 3 tiers), last row and directly under the speakers, (which were set to extra loud so that the people seated front and cernter could hear everything). We missed much of the show when people in front of us stood up to take pictures, seemingly oblivious to the fact that people behind them were blocked rom viewing the show they paid the same amount to see. Also, waiters crossing in front of us throughout the show was very distracting.

On the positive side, it was nice having a private table and the ocean views during the show were great. The show was well done - too bad we kept getting blocked throughout.

Would I recommend this luau to anyone? I would only recommend this show to people who demand 1st tier seating - especially in the center. Beyond first tier - and especially on the 3rd tier, only if you get some type of discount off the premium price since the experience is not as good in these less-desireable seats. Also, if you have a big appetite, just ask them to double up servings up-front so that you don't run into the same issue we did with portion size.

The dancing was great. The food and drink was well paced. We loved the wine pairing with the food. Service was excellent. Definitely not to be missed.
