The Banyon Tree has been able to survive tourist, transients and unruly kids for centuries. As the tree added roots from it's branches an entire park is awarded with shade and nesting place for hundreds of birds that return at dusk and as others have said, "beware of bird droppings". Stand away and enjoy the sight. On the week ends they have venders and food with items for sale. It is a place you don't want to miss in Lahaina, but you may not spend much time there.
