I spent an afternoon at Napili Beach and enjoyed the vibe and water. Parking is always an issue at Napili so figure on hunting around for a place to park plus a decent length walk to get to the beach itself.
This beach gets rave reviews while I only thought it to be average. It's not very wide nor long. In the water, the sand drops off quickly and I didn't feel this was a very good family beach as a result. We also encountered lots of rocks (some fairly sharp and large) submerged and right where you continually step or bump into them.
There are so many beaches in this area of Maui I would recommend doing some recon to locate a better beach.
