My wife, adult daughter and I recently spent ten days in Kapalua. There are at least two spots which serve Lappert's ice cream in nearby Lahaina. We visited the shop (sorry I cannot remember the name) on the NORTH side of Lahaina. The ice cream (which we all love) is worth the trip from Kapalua back down to Lahaina. The store is small and looks like an afterthought to the Longhi's restaurant which is next door. Parking is virtually impossible along Front Street, but free parking is available off street behind the ice cream shop. If you park, the parking attendant will see you and ask you for $5.00 for parking. If you say you are only there for the ice cream and stay for less than 45 minutes, she will tell you there's no charge. But I would advise you to check in with her before you walk to Lapperts (only a couple hundred feet), so someone won't ticket or tow your vehicle in this very protective little parking lot.
The service is quick and friendly. The ice cream is wonderful. Don't miss it while you are in Maui.
