We stayed at this hotel last year over the Christmas to New Years break (Dec 2012 to Jan 2013). Our major issue with the hotel was the beach. It was not very nice. The sand was not as smooth as we would have liked. The location is great though and the price was right. Our airfare from NYC was very high so we were very concious of the hotel rates. I forgot what we paid. It was somewhere around $300 and $400 a night. Compared to similar hotels, this price was a steel--after all it was high season so rates at some places on the Kaanapali beach peaked well over 500/night. The kitchen was great and there is a bbq near the tennis courts so we cooked some a few nights. The room was clean and king size bed was comfortbale, but the rollaway bed was very uncomfortable so be warned of that. the living room and tv were basic. no complaints there. it is a great place to stay if you want to be in more an apartment like setting. we are more independent travelers than others so we enjoyed having our own space and being able to emake meals

On kaanapali beach. Clean and comfortable. Staying in unit 943. Great view from living room and lanai. Property has two heated pools. Parking is good. Food and alchahol on site. Beach access is easy. Not a huge beach. Sandy area and rocky into the water. Go down beach for more sand. Weather has been OK. It is January. Rained last night but sun is out this morning. Right around 80 deg.

Room Tip: If view is important choose ocean front. Go higher for better view.

My family of six planned a vacation paid and confirmed it in April or May. We get here and they have changed our confirmed rooms to two different units. Then charged us for the extra unit after we had prepaid for the larger unit. We worked for three days of our vacation trying to talk to a manager to get the charges off our credit card. Not only was that a problem, they charge your room $15.00 dollar a day for Xbox wifi AND 9.00 a day parking. These were not mentioned until we checked in and had pd for the week well in advance. And did I mention our rooms they reassigned us to were in the worse place in the resort? My 7 th trip to Hawaii , my first and last to the Aston

While we're certainly sorry that these guests were disappointed on any level, the situation has not been accurately represented by them. They were provided two units (which by the way afforded their party of six with more space, privacy, an additional kitchen, bedding, washer/dryer, amenities), but were only charged exactly what they were quoted in total for the one two-bedroom suite that they originally booked. They have confused a credit authorization with a room charge. Also, we are careful to display and disclose on our website and in all collateral provided to our travel partners all charges associated with a guest stay, including our daily amenity fee and parking charge, both of which remain more affordable than most other resorts in the Kaanapali Resort area. And oops, they forgot to mention that they received over $100 in dining credit in recognition for them having to work through the situation with our management team.

We do hope these visitors were able to enjoy the beauty and hospitality that Maui has to offer in general and that they did not let this one brief situation truly ruin their experience.

Beautiful location right on the beach. First night we discovered that our bed's headboard was right up against the wall to the elevator shaft and we could hear the pulleys every time it was used. We asked for a change, no problem, we were given a tour of 2 other suites and we chose the outer ocean view. Clean rooms, full kitchen and very nice balcony with table and 2 chairs and a lounger. We had my sister-in-law with us and she said the queen size sofa bed was very comfortable. The food at the Beach House was wonderful. Well maintained property inside and out.
Hope to stay here again on our next trip to Maui.

Room Tip: The only poor choice is by the elevator as they need to sound proof the bedrooms from the mechanical...

Everything on Maui is expensive. Plan on spending money on parking everywhere you go! This resort is very well kept!! And there are lots of nice beaches right out front!! We got placed in a very nice room with a very hard bed so I went to front desk they gave me a key for another room to check out. The bed was sooo much better so they moved all our stuff over to that room. We loved our stay!!! Mahalo

We had everything that we needed here. The check-in was welcoming, though we did have to wait until 4:30pm to get into our room (arrived at 11:00am), as we were supposed to receive a call (but didn't) when the room would be ready. We were a little bit concerned about the renovations that we were warned about ahead of time, but honestly, this was not a factor throughout the stay - it was minimally invasive. The other services on site were great, especially to arrange our activities for our six day visit to Maui. (Pili at the concierge table of Expedia was particularly helpful). The photo offer (book this early as it seems that many wait until the last day and then are disappointed to find out that times are fully booked) as part of the hotel package seemed to be unique compared to other resorts and we have a nice (professionally done) souvenir of our stay in Maui. The kitchen connected to our room was perfect and as others have pointed out the grocery store across the street is very convenient. Many had comments previously about the birds. If you sleep with the window open, chances are that you will not be happy, as yes they do make a racket. On the other hand, if you look at it positively, it provides a unique experience and we in fact preferred air con., so this was not an issue for us. Our first night we thought that we had set the air con. temp properly, but in fact didn't, so our first night was rather uncomfortable, but thereafter once we knew the trick taught to us by housekeeping, we were more or less happy with our sleep. Value for what we paid was very good.

We were planning to stay next door, but because of booking we stayed here. Rooms very
modern, we had a one bedroom so nice and roomy looking onto the garden. Staff extremely helpful. Grocery store across the street had everything we needed. Had a massage that was from heaven thankyou. Our room overlooked the gardens and the most spectacular thing happens at sunset - the local birds tree themselves; what a racket until they are settled for the night. Just added to the entertainment. Had lunch and dinner at the beach club by the pool. Food was excellent and the atmosphere very sophisticated Beautiful resort, nice pools and beaches.
