“So sad to leave paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2009

This hotel fit us perfectly. We loved the gardens and our lanai overlooking the gardens and the ocean. There was a palm tree almost touching our lanai and the birds would perch on the fronds begging for food. My husband is a bird guy, so he loved that. We rented room 643 from Kaanapali Beach Properties. The condo owner was kind enough to stock the room with great beach chairs, boogie boards, Hawaiian music and a Maui Revealed travel book (the book is a must for Maui visitors). The beach was a bit small, but we liked snorkeling a different beach everyday so it didn't matter. We also liked the convience of the Star Market across the street and the farmers market nearby. By the way, the Annabelle and Warren Magic show was a hoot. We laughed for two hours straight. We would recommend this hotel to all. There were a lot of families here, so I assume it's very family friendly.

The grounds for the hotel were beautiful. The landscaping and the access to the beach were very nice. When we first saw the hotel we thought wow this is great. But then we got to our rooms. All three rooms were the same. The doors had a gap underneath the door about 2 inches. Light bulbs were out, the base boards were cracked and coming away from the walls. All the rooms needed updating badly. We tried to get our rooms changed so we could have updated rooms but were told we could not have our rooms together if we moved. We had a great time in Maui but we were really dissapointed in the rooms. Our room evidently had not been opened up in some time as it was very stale smelling.
THe next time we visit Maui we will stay in another hotel. The out ward appearance was terrific.

As is evidenced by the many, many very positive reviews on the site, clearly the renovations to our resort suites that have been completed continue to meet or exceed the expectations of the vast majority of our guests. We will be looking into the specifics associated with this particular guest's accommodations, but want to assure visitors that their experience is not at all typical of what one might expect at our beautiful resort (again as evidenced by most other reviews).

The room was very clean.
Our main reason we stayed in Maui was to play golf, and so it was very useful for us that the hotel was located within a few minutes from everything. I enjoyed having a kitchen in the room; it made our trip easier.

Ranks up there with Regency in Chiang Mai. We have been inspired to remodel our condo after staying 3 nights in a fabulous luxurious 2 bedroom condo at Aston.

My 2 girlfriends and I stayed for a 4 day weekend at the Kaanapali Shores. We asked for an upgraded ocean view room and that is exactly what we got with room 704. For the 3 of us, the 2 bedroom condo was perfect. We had 2 bathrooms to share which is a must with 3 women. The kitchen was upgraded with granite counters and we stopped at Costco on the way to stock up on the basics. The living room was perfect to hang out and lounge in and the washer and dryer was a plus. There are 2 pools at the complex. I preferred the garden pool as it was less crowded and more quiet, although most of the babies and young children come to this pool. The proximity of the market and shops across the street was super convenient. We discovered the bus to Whaler's village our last night which is also an affordable way to get around. You can also get a bus from Whaler's Village to Lahaina - they stop running at 8:45 p.m. so if you stay out later you'll have to cab back.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a mellow, no frills stay. The rooms are spacious and amenities are conveniently close. A lot of families with children stay here so if you are not wanting that scene you will probably not like it here.

The stay at the Kaanapali Shores made our family vacation made more speical than we planned!
Since we had a 6 month old baby, we wanted to make sure that our stay, especially with baby, is comfortable.
The room was generously spacious and clean. Because room has kitchen and all the utensil we needed, it was so much easier to prepare the baby food. This was the main reason we didn't want to go to a hotel, but decided to stay at a condo.
Also, the housekeeping staff was very friendly and their timely response to our request impressed us. Their service level was 5 star hotel level!
Although the weather was too cold for us to go into the water, because of the ocean front location, we could enjoy the ocean view and beautiful Maui.
Overall it was a perfact stay for adults and babies.

This hotel has proven to be an excellent "getaway from it all". The room was spacious, clean and quiet with all the amenities of being at home. This hotel is not only located on a fabulous white sand beach, but it's also close to nightlife, shopping and dining. Highly recommended.
