I saw a deal on this on Priceline that was too good to pass up - and boy did I learn why. I guess MKV passes up their less-than-great inventory to these sites - oh well, I got what I paid for.

The location of the villas is perfect - walking distance to the beach. I got unit 117 (I think) - so it was right by the lobby and the beach. The unit itself was incredibly dated - I felt like I had gone back in time to the 80s. Huge mirrors were tacky - and the bathroom felt slimy and gross. Outdoor patio furniture looked like something you got off of Craigslist.

One would think when you pay a "resort fee" that you'd end up in something resembling a resort. This felt more like a Motel 6 that happened to get lucky and get placed right by a wonderful beach. Internet was also incredibly slow (could barely get anything on my phone working) - so again - what was the resort fee for again?

So - long story short - if you want VALUE and you do not care about where you stay - yes, stay here. But if you've traveled 3,000 something miles to Maui and want to have a nice pool and nice rooms - stay elsewhere.

Good condo with great access to Ka'anapali beach. Front desk very helpful.
The condo I usually stay at was not available. We decided to stay here. The price/quality seemed reasonable. Our stay was good. The location is a little farther from Whalers Village but that is not a problem. I definitely would consider staying there again especially to spend time at the beach.

My husband and I recently stayed here and really enjoyed it. Comfortable rooms, nice showers, nice kitchens, plenty of space, and very clean. The beach was wonderful and the pool was great. Very nice and relaxing environment. Perfect for those that don't want to be around a rowdy crowd. Location is close to Black Rock, which is only a short walk away and has wonderful snorkleing. Close to food and conveniences.

The only complaint we had was that we were only allowed one single-time use packet of coffee during our stay. However, the lobby does have coffee starting around 6 am.

Room Tip: Opting for a condo seems to get you a more pleasant location on the property.

We stayed here for a week in October and recommend it. Many of the buildings are only 2-story, so it's a low rise place, and reminiscent of old Hawaii when Maui was more like a sleepy isle. Gorgeous landscaped grounds. Nice shady lawn area right on the beach with beach chairs perfect for reading. We had wanted a 1-bedroom with 2 beds, but they only have a single with 2 beds, and it wasn't available (and we didn't like the location) so we got a condo with a loft, but the a/c was so noisy we had to turn it off. Fortunately, it wasn't so hot outside at night, and there are ceiling fans, so it wasn't too bad. I have mentioned the a/c to the management. Rooms/condos can be reserved through the hotel or with private owners (this is the way to get a specific room). The garden views are so nice. Castaways is a decent resort restaurant, nothing fancy. Activities desk on the beach is very friendly. I tried stand-up paddle boarding and loved it. There's a snorkel beach at the Westin, within walking distance. Free parking.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the smaller pool have a pretty view and ocean breeze on the lanai. There are some t...

Relaxing and quite place for a relaxing holiday. Not very big and not crowded.
We had a nice apartment on the 5th floor, with ocean view towards Lahaina Roads and Lanai / Molokai.
Well functioning kitchen/pantry with the essentials.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Café Castaway Restaurant on the premesis directly down to the beach with good food. Bar served handy lunch to both at bar and to take to the pool/beach next to.
Beeing nice and quiet, it was also a bit from shopping etc., so one would need a car.

Room Tip: Must have ocean view!

The Villas are a great relaxing place to stay in Ka'anapali. Great prices and value with a great beach and grounds. We have stayed twice and we never had to wait to get a lounger at the beach. The pool and grounds are not crowded like many of the other resorts. The staff is very friendly. My wife and I would live there if we could swing it. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great. You just need to decide if you want to be closer to the beach.

My new husband and I spent our honeymoon in June at the Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas. It was the perfect place for us. Comfortable, great view, just the right size, pleasant staff. A bottle of champagne was sent up to our room when they learned it was our honeymoon trip. It was conveniently located. We liked it because we "ran into" couples we had previously met and ended up snorkeling with them, making it a friendly place. Another couple we met told us they have been coming here for years. We would highly recommend the Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas to anyone looking for a lovely location for their Maui vacation.
