Returned home for my 50th class reunion and stayed at this Resort. Great location, excellent room and very friendly and courteous staff. A nice beach only a few steps away and walking distance to old Lahaina town. Especially enjoyed talking to the Front Desk staff, who seem to go out of their way to make one feel comfortable. Great job to all and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: The higher the level, the better the view.

We rented unit 615 from an individual owner and enjoyed every minute of our stay. My only regret is that we rented a car! It stayed in the garage the whole time as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. This is such a nice relaxing place to stay. As others have said: not crowded, no hustle & bustle and easy walking distance to the restaurants, shops and the wharf in Lahaina. We stayed with friends who had rented a car so we were able to go to some other parts of the island, but I would have been fine with staying in Lahaina the whole time. There is plenty to do there!
The staff at Lahaina Shores were always pleasant and friendly. The common areas were kept spotless and the beach, while maybe not the best one on the island, was still nice. We saw whales from our balcony and it was mid-April.
I would advise doing plenty of homework when choosing a unit. One couple in our group rented from an individual (as opposed to from L.S. directly) and had a bad experience. They got switched to a Lahaina Shores unit and it was 100% better!

Room Tip: Even though we were on the ocean side, we didn't sleep with the balcony door open until the last...

My 21 year old daughter and I stayed five days for her spring break in a "studio ocean view". Couldn't have been a better choice. Quiet and elegant but not stuffy.

Perfect and well located for us - we do not enjoy large resorts with busy shops and restaurants everywhere, etc. We loved the recently remodeled unit: beautiful ocean view; efficient, full (French press and all!) kitchen; spacious room, never felt cramped or in each-others way; everything functioned perfectly well and the unit was clean. There was a nice, calm pool (that you could actually do a few laps in) surrounded by nice patio and lawns with plenty of chairs and felt very private, separated from the beach by a hedge; beach accessed by a locking gate. Secure parking for $8/day under adjacent building; little, locally run shops (snorkel, scuba lessons/rentals, basic groceries and beverages, etc) and local bar/restaurants also in adjacent building. The property's 5-15 minute walk from all the happenings on Front Street.

Did not have housekeeping in daily but they were great when we chatted in the halls! Front desk was friendly, helpful - stored our bags after checkout until late afternoon departure etc. I read some reviewer was displeased with the luau next door each evening - we were right above it on that corner of the building - started around 6 and ended promptly by 9. Music was intermittent and we could see some of the Polynesian dancing. Wasn't much louder than the ocean and easily blocked by our sliding-doors. No problem for us whatsoever.

We truly enjoyed staying at Lahaina Shores. Mahalo and WE HOPE TO RETURN!! --WI and MN gals

I was a little wary of booking after reading some of the comments in tripadvisor. I'm glad I did. The studio room was recently redone in a simple contemporary manner. It was complete and clean. The excellent house staff kept it that way. The mountainside view was as expected and quite nice especially when a rainbow fringed the mountain. Being removed somewhat from downtown Lahaina kept the resort quiet yet made for an easy walk to all activities. I did not use the resort's pool or other facillities so cannot comment on them. In summary, the value for this resort's location was excellent.

Room Tip: If yu don't need an ocean view, the mountain view is very nice and less expensive.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. The staff was wonderful and always smiling. Our room was clean and house keeping was great. We loved that we could cook and didn't have to eat out for every meal. Housekeeping even did any dishes that were in the sink! Within walking distance of TONS of shops and restaurants. Concierge was very helpful in planning activities and where to eat out. Great pool and beach. And a short drive to great snorkeling at Ka'anapali, Napili Bay, and Kapalua Bay. Would absolutely stay here again if we return to Maui!

The staff were all friendly and helpful. Free Parking! Location was walking distance to Front St which saved us parking fees! Upscale without being pretentious. Ocean front was upscale. Whale watching from our balcony was awesome! Recommend 5th thru 7th floors for best views.

I'm not sure which is better, the location or the view. Both were perfect for us. Not in the hustle of Lahaina but a nice walking distance. Set right on the beach (we had two different rooms) the views were to die for. If I go there again you may have to remove me. What I really liked about this place was that it wasn't fufu like some of the hotels/resorts north of it. It was down to earth, but nicely decorated, clean and had almost a zen like flow to the hotel lobby. Both of our rooms were clean and had kitchens and we bought fruit and ate fruit on our balcony every day. Best breakfast in Lahaina. The reception and staff were helpful and really set the vibe for the place. Will go back! I hope sooner rather than later!
