Really enjoyed our stay here, you cannot get closer to the beach. Our unit was a little dated and could use a little updating but that's just being picky. We were in a 1 bedroom unit with the upgraded appliances etc. the pool is a little small if you have kids, however it was never over crowded when we were there, there's miles of beach a few feet away.Theres a grocery store across the street and several restaurants within walking distance. Would love to go back anytime. My only suggestion would be to have some beach toys etc available to use/ rent

Staying in a ground floor unit, one bedroom tha thad been fully remodeled. This place was stunning as was the view. Rented direct from an owner using VRBO and this was a great experiance. Unit was everything and more, loved the ground floor as you walked directly out onto the lawn and this extended the living area. Easy to come and go, rather than needing to use elevators to run back for a drink or a book. Grounds are well maintained, property mgmt was very good.
Loved having Duke's next door for a special meal....mostly shopped at the grocery store that was nearby, but not really walking distance.
We will return to the Mahana!

Room Tip: Ground floor units are great and convenient...upstairs units have incredible views but long walks an...

I'm very particular about cleanliness and I could find no fault with this unit. It was immaculate! We have rented many condos, apartments and houses during our travels and there are usually a few items we would need to go and get on our own. Not so with this unit - the owners provided everything you could think of and the quality of the housewares was far above the norm.

The unit has floor to ceiling windows which provide the most amazing view from virtually everywhere in the condo. There is also a large balcony which can be accessed from the bedroom and the living room.

The view from the Mahana is incredible. You can see Lanai and Molokai from
the balcony. The hotel is walking distance to Dukes which has a really good
breakfast. You definately need to rent a car to get to Lahaina and
other sightseeing destinatons but this hotel is a great homebase

We stayed in room #601. This was clearly a time-share owned by a family that very much cared about their property and its furnishings. My wife and I stayed here with my parents in May 2012. This place was an absolute incredible value. I researched a lot of places that overlooked the ocean before I booked this property. Most of the places did not have ocean-front views. This particular property looked right out onto the beautiful Pacific ocean. And, there was an amazing patio with table and chairs. This was perfect for early morning coffee & breakfast and after-dinner cocktails. Just sitting there and looking out onto the ocean, hearing the waves, seeing the smaller islands in the distance was such a peaceful and enjoyable way to spend some time with family.
There was also a recently updated and full kitchen. That was huge for us. We were able to have breakfasts and lunches right there at our hotel. The kitchen had everything you'd have at home, which made things very convenient for us. There was a huge living area, complete with a dining room table and chairs, a desk, a large sofa (with hide-a-bed), and two easy/lounge chairs. The windows in the living room looked right out onto the ocean and the windows went from floor to ceiling, allowing you the same views you had on the patio.
The bathrooms were clean and either recently updated or just well cared for. The bedrooms were large, clean and the beds were very comfortable.
I think this property would be perfect for families. There was a ton of room for us to relax here while not "living on top of each other". Here's a few caveats: there is no bar or restaurant on the property; there is no room-service (to order up food). However, we knew that ahead of time and were planning on stocking up on things to eat and drink at the many grocery stores in the area. There's one right across the street from the property. And if you want a quick bite to eat at a nice restaurant close to the property: there's Duke's located 5 minutes walking distance from the property. It's a great restaurant with great views and reasonably priced cocktails.

Room Tip: The reviews said to stay on the 8th floor or higher for the best views. We were on the 6th floor an...

We stayed 4 nights at the Aston Mahana May 25-59, 2012. I booked directly with Aston as most of the VRBO listings wanted a minimum of 5 days. The nice thing about VRBO is you can see the room you're going to get. We booked an upgraded condo -- and it was great. The view from the room is amazing! You won't be disappointed. One thing to remember -- you cannot swim directly in front of the hotel. There are signs up that say coral beach and to go 125 - 175 yards in either direction to swim/snorkel. This really wasn't a problem for us. Snorkelling out about 125 yards to the left (in front of Duke's Beach House restaurant) was amazing. We saw a lot of sea life including an octopus!
Parking can be somewhat bothersome as there seems to be a lack of parking spaces! There is a great grocery store (Times) just on the main road before you get to the condo and you can buy everything you need to cook your meals in your condo. Having a washer/dryer was a bonus!
