We are owners at MOC and loved our recent visit. We stayed in the newly re-decorated Moloka'i tower. We brought friends and since we only have a one bedroom they slept on the new pull-out sofa bed. What a huge improvement the new beds are. They have a flat base(without springs jamming into your back) and a regular memory foam mattress. The new decor is "island style" with warm colors. We loved the new table with 4 chairs instead of the bench seat. The new headboard in the master suite is beautiful and the chaise is great. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated with new paint and shower curtains but the cabinets, tile and marble are the same. The property is fabulous--so clean and well cared for. It is right on Kaanapali Beach(best beach in Maui) The staff was great-very helpful. There is construction going on in the Lanai tower for the next month but we didn't hear any noise during our stay. The 4 pools are great with plenty of chairs to sit on. We love to sit in front of the Lahaina building close to the beach walk and watch the paddle boarders. We had dinner at Longboards one night(Marriott gives a $20 coupon) and I had the best Maui onion soup ever. We also BBQ'd one night and sat in one of the outdoor tables and chairs for a fun evening dinner in.
Some of our favorite things from this trip: We love to walk down to Whalers Village(just take the beach walk) and eat at our favorite places-Hula Grill or Leilani's. It you haven't had Hula Pie you need to order some. We also discovered the Plantation House in Kapalua. The views are spectacular and the food was wonderful. We rented snorkel gear at Maui Dive Shop. Spend the extra money and get the deluxe equipment with the two way valve it makes a huge difference($24.95 for a week). We didn't have good luck with snorkeling this trip. The water was too murky. We tried several places(Honolua Bay, Airport Beach, Po'olenalena Beach in Makena) but the best was Black Rock right down the beach walk from our hotel in front of the Sheraton. We even swam with a turtle for about 15 minutes. The other really cool thing we did was go to the Nakalele blowhole and the Olivine Pools. These are a "don't miss"and the best thing is they are free. The the other really cool thing to do is Warren and Annabelle's. Warren is the best slight of hand magician I have ever seen and he is so funny. I know what you are thinking "not another cheesy magic show". You will not be disappointed and you will be talking about how did he do things for days. We have been 4 times now and it is by far the best and most entertaining show on the island. We love to take people who have never been and watch their faces.
Can you tell we love Maui we can't wait to go back next year.

We stayed here just recently, in a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo. Very nice complex, our room was large and well laid out, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and washer and dryer. It was very quiet when we were there, lots of beach chairs by the pool and cabanas by the ocean available. The staff here is wonderful, special kudos to Maureen, she works at the cabanas on the beach. Very nice lady. There is a great kids area, pools and play grounds. The beach right in front of the resort is narrow, and rocky, but farther down towards the sheraton is deeper and sandier. For swimmers and people who snorkel, this is a nicer area. Kaanapali is a quiet place, not much nightlife, so more suited for those who want to relax and families that are staying there for the beach and pools. Not a lot of restaurants on the strip and can be pricey, but with a condo, u can cook for yourself and save money. This was my 3rd trip to this resort and I would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ocean view would be a nice choice, garden is sometimes overlooking the parking area.

Overall the hotel is a timeshare hotel, but that does not distract from the experience. The hotel has 2 different room types Villas and Tower Rooms. The Villas are newer and have a full kitchen and updated deco. The Tower rooms are converted hotel room, but only have a small fridge, microwave, sink and dishwasher. This time we stayed in a 2 bedroom tower room and enjoyed the place with a second couple. The 3 pools on the property are large and have plenty of room to spread out. Since this was our second stay on the property we decide to bypass the timeshare presentation, since we had done the dog and pony show in the past. The location on Kaanapali beach is great and is within walking distance to the Whaler's Village (Shops/Restuarants) and down the beach to Black Rock for snorkeling. The beach in front of the resort is small, but as you head north it get alot bigger. We had spent a few days at the beach and by the pool, other days were spent off the resort. Overall the resort is good and the facilities are wonderful. Happy hour at Longeboards in the hotel was wonderful and we always had great service and enjoyed the sunsets.

Room Tip: We had a 5th floor Ocean View and it was wonderful

I spent two weeks at the Marriott Maui ocean club in September. I stayed in the Lahaina tower . The room was clean and in excellent shape given that its 5 years old. The kitchen is big, modern and complete. The BBQ area is small, crowded and stuck in the back adjacent to the parking garage. The pool for the Lahaina tower is small, and has limited shaded lounges so reserve your spot early! The bigger pool is at the old original timeshare. It too is packed.
Lunch is limited to the little takeout spot, no ambiance and just basic eats. There isn't a real nighttime bar long either. This place is huge given the two newer 12 story towers, and the food is limited. Longboards is only open for dinner, and is ok. It seems like all of the good hotel area is taken up by the sales roaches.
Trust me....they are trying to sell you timeshare deals, points anything, and constantly. They call you before you arrive, they email you, they welcome packet and call your room. They greet you when you walk down the path. It feels like one big sales effort 24/7.
It's a shame because the property is nice. They could use more services like a lunch restaurant, another dinner option, a nice place for a drink etc. But they would have to give up the sales pavillions so I guess that won't happen
Lastly, the gym is good...modern bright and clean. Walk down to Tropica or Hula grill for a good dinner. Keep your towel cards, no card no towel. On checkout day beware, your key card won't open your door after 10 am.

Room Tip: The Napili and Lahaina tower are new and bear no resemblance to the old section

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in August and had an awesome time. Large spacious and clean room, great guest services (we scheduled multiple activities through them), spectacular pool, perfect location right on the water. This is not a cheap place to stay, but you definitely get what you pay for, which is an awesome Maui getaway experience.
