“Great for families or first time visitors.”

We traded our timeshare for a week in Ka'anapali. Marriott is predictable. You know what level of quality to expect and can sometimes be pleasantly surprised by over-delivery. The rooms are spacious and clean. They were going thru a refurb and we got a newly finished room-quite pleasant. In fact, wife and I agreed that we could have easily gotten by with less space. Having said that, the Maui Ocean Club is an almast perfect place for a multi-generational vacation. A Hawaiin vacation is all about the pools and the beaches. Maui Ocean Club has that down. There are what seem to be acres of pools, waterfalls, bridges and ponds to explore. There is a large pirate ship for the little kids. The beach is right there and there are a variety of places to enjoy the sun. Kaanapali Beach is populated by the big resort chains and is secure and clean. No problem in my mind to cut the teens loose for a few hours. There are plenty of activities for all ages. There are several excellent restaurants within a 10 minute beach walk. Night life-albiet-slightly tame can be found nearby. Highly recommended for families.

The best place I've ever stayed. This is a ten. I spent a week at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club and would recommend it to everyone looking for a great resort experience. The staff, the room the view, (I even had the Island View) was spectacular. Great Beach, great pools, great dinning. This is what I want when I go to Hawaii. The only only complaint was the parking for the Napaili Building was very limited, but a parking garage was available at the other end of the property.

Room Tip: The room at the end of the hall is the one to try to get, spacious and quiet.

My wife and I and our 16 month old baby spent the 1st week of October here. We stayed in a two-bedroom first floor oceanfront unit (it was a 3 bedroom but the 3rd bedroom was locked off) in the Napilli Villas. It was way beyond our wildest expectations - gorgeous unit and lanai and a beautiful property. All the staff we interacted with were five star friendly. We typically travel to small islands and rent homes so we were nervous about how we'd feel in a "timeshare" resort. Needless to say, we were very impressed. We are going to try our next vacation at another Marriott Resort if we can snag a great unit on Interval. Bravo Ocean Club - we will be back!

We checked in here for the last couple nights of our holiday on Maui, and were disappointed overall with our experience. We prefer personal service, and this hotel does not offer it or does not offer it well. The hotel itself is nice, and rooms were comfortable, but we were put off by the staff interactions and lack of food options at the resort. When we were checking in, the staff would not allow us to use the luggage carts at the reception (for "insurance reasons"). Instead, we had to valet our luggage and then park at the far end of the resort and wait on our luggage to be delivered. This service took a long time, and cost us as well. The 2nd day of our stay, while we were out, a whole slew of items were delivered to our room (cot, blankets, pillows) that were not requested and were likely intended for another guest due to arrive in another room. When I called the front desk to have someone come and remove these items, we waited about 15 minutes for a staff member to arrive. When he did, he asked me if I was sure if I had not asked for these (are you kdding me - do you see a baby in the room?), and then told me it was housekeeping's fault and then proceeded to call housekeeping from our room and tell them to come and get these items. I was ready to put everything out on the floor in the hallway myself at that point. Staying in a 4 star hotel, we expected that while there can be mistakes, that service would have been polished and professional. The other disappointment here was the food quality and options at the cafe. My comment is that they consider adding more healthy and fresh items, and gluten free options to cater to the growing amount of celiac travellers. Beach was okay, but we drove to other ones that were less crowded.

I took my daugher and granddaughter to Maui for my G-daughter's 16th Birthday. We rented a 3/3 ocean front unit from the individual owners. We are all taken aback when we first walked into this unit. It was fantastic. Every room had an ocean view. The master BD, living room, dining room and kitchen were ocean front with massive sliders that go out onto a very large lanai with dining table. The inside dining room will accommodate 8 easily and there is seating at the bar. This place was bigger than my home and was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen had granite counter tops and all appliances were full size which made it easy to dine in. We were in the Napali Tower in a 4th floor corner unit. I would recommend any 3 BD Oceanfront unit in Napali Tower to anyone. The master bath had a 4 person Jacuzzi with separate huge shower and separate toilet room which I prefer. The beds were so comfortable you didn’t want to get out of them, but waking up to the beautiful views made it easy.
The grounds were beautiful also. I believe there were 4 pools, but we didn’t spend much time at the main pool which was huge with slides and kiddie area with pirate ship. We were perfectly satisfied at the pool/spa and bar in front of our unit. We never had an issue getting a lounge chair at any time night or day. The check in was very easy and the staff is very gracious and accommodating. We were all greeted with a lei which my g-daughter loved. We did have to wait until 4P to check in, but we were made aware of this time beforehand and had no problem waiting at the pool bar where we had some lunch which was delicious. The bellman took very good care of us. We had stopped at Costco to buy groceries and he made sure they perishables were refrigerated. He brought them up right after we got into our room. He also made sure “all” our luggage was brought up immediately (and you can imagine how much luggage 3 girls have).
I absolutely will go back to the Marriot Ocean Club again! It's close to everything.
PS~ I was not presurred in anyway to do timeshare tours, but was giving $20 off at Long Boards and many discount coupons for the area.

Room Tip: Napali Tower Ocean Front is the way to go. Very quiet, clean and stunning views.

We stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club from early November, which is the best time of year for Maui. Our vacation started in the Lahaina tower which is one of the two newer towers. The second week was in the Molakai tower which is simply the best! It is the original structure from when the villas were hotel rooms, but that is a distant memory. The villas have again been renovated and remodeled. New carpet, paint, appliances and furniture. They did a beautiful remodel. The villa is comfortable and the bed is incredible. Our villa is oceanfront and you can hear the ocean waves even with the door closed! The views are unreal, you are really close and the two balconies are huge. We had a big cushy chaise out there, two chairs and a table - the second and third floor have the largest balconies. You could have a party out there - that large. The sun is blazing on the balcony from noon on. Amazing! The villa was spotless, as was the balcony and the resort as a whole. From the pools to the common areas to the laundry area - it is the cleanest, neatest resort. The staff is so friendly and welcoming.
You truly feel at home from the moment you check in. I would recommend this resort to anyone that needs a written guarantee for perfection. Perfect paradise!

Room Tip: Corner villas have wrap around decks. Oceanfront villas in the original towers are really close to t...

We stayed two weeks (Oct - Nov 2010) in a one bedroom, two bath suit with an excellent ocean view. We could her the waves crashing below us. It was heavenly.

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. They had been trained well. The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful.

The suite was very roomy. The room had a microwave, dishwasher, small refrigerator and utensils. The bed was outstandingly comfortable. Two flat screen TV's with DVDs. The rooms were just remodeled and updated. We had two balconies which were divine. The gym was outstanding. The free parking wasn't so great; you had to walk a few minutes to get there.

We loved the place so much we purchased six weeks of timeshare units. We purchased those weeks on the resale market, not from Marriott. We paid about 30% of what the Marriott is selling them for.

We are going back for six weeks every year.
