Maui is our second home and at the Maui Ocean Club everyone is so friendly and warm. Also we can always count on the Marriott for clean, clean accommodations. It isn't cheap by any means but you get what you pay for! Highly recommend,

The Ocean Club is great for couples or families. Ka'anapali has a excellent beach, whale watching of ocean sports, and a beach walk that goes on for miles. We visit every January and love it; always 82 and sunny.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean from or ocean view in the Molokai tower.

Great staff!!Everyone at the resort was very courteous and friendly. This is a great resort. They definitely have the aloha spirit as this resort. It is within walking distance to many shops and the beach in front of the resort is absolutely gorgeous!. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to turtle rock. The snorkeling there is pretty decent but the best thing there is a resident turtle willing to get up close and personal. Rooms come with a mini fridge and the ocean view/pool views are to die for!!

We have been to Kauai on many occasions but came to Maui this year for a vacation/conference. We had the one bedroom/two bath suite, perfect for a couple. Ground floor with ocean a few steps away. There were plenty of activities on site. Shopping and other dining choices within short beach side walk. This is a Perfect location for whale watching from your beach chair, this time of year! Also must take a whale watching cruise.

This year we stayed at the Maui Ocean Club again for our Maui vacation and were not disappointed. The grounds are the most beautiful grounds in the area with lots of space for various things. Whether you want to lay on the beach, in a hammock, by the pool or in a lawn chair in the shade…there is something for everyone. This year we were really into grilling for dinner right at the hotel. You have to get to a grill early (around 4pm) but you can have a nice dinner outside right near the ocean. There are about 8 grills on the property (maybe more??) I know there are 4 near each tower. It helps that there are kitchens and outdoor grills because if you're there for 10 days+ you get tired of eating out every night. We also utilized the beach activities center more on this vacation, rented chairs and a beach cabana for the day. They set everything up for you and you can enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. Rental prices are reasonable and if you rent later in the day they cut the fee in half. I splurged and got a massage in the beach tent and a mani/pedi from the salon. The massage was the most relaxing massage I've had, with the sounds of the ocean waves and breeze in the background. I was worried it would be noisy with people walking by, but I only hear the sounds of nature (it was 9-10am). The mani/pedi was also excellent. They really take their time and don't rush to make sure it is an enjoyable experience. The foot massage with the pedi is very nice. There are many things to do right on the hotel grounds or a short walk away from the hotel. The beachfront path is nice to walk in mornings as well as the beach. The Marriott's Ocean Club is a great place to stay while on Maui and we will continue to go back and visit.

Room Tip: Rooms in either tower are quiet, spacious and enjoyable. Room service or housekeeping needs are alwa...

We were in a one bedroom "villa" hotel/condo with another couple for one night before our flight the following evening on a red - eye.
The pull out sofa bed was better than found in most hotel "suites". That said, I will address the view. On a patio/balcony/lanai that was wide enough for a soda table and two chairs you could turn your head to the left to see the ocean and to the right to see the newer building. Looking straight ahead and down was one of the pools and Jacuzzi area. From the Master bedrooms' view point, (closer to the ocean by the length of the living room portion) it was much the same.
This was considered an owners one week ocean view room from our friends who bought the one week experience a few years ago.
Nice point were the two bathrooms so that the couple sleeping in the living room area had their own bathroom. The "kitchen area" was a mini fridge and a microwave along with coffee maker and toaster. If you like to cook during your vacation this would limit you to frozen entrees and sandwich meat and bread along with maybe some milk and cereal. Also the Starbucks below attached to the property is the cheapest breakfast around and their oatmeal in a cup with all the goodies, pastries and the coffees can be enjoyed from the myriad of tables and chairs outside which cost less than the take out hotel small take out breakfast stand just around the corner of the building from Starbucks.

This is fine for people who like a busy, congested hotel, beach front walking path, (also congested) and want to eat out almost all meals at expensive prices nearby. We prefer smaller hotels/Condos with less traffic, larger kitchens, and bigger patios where we can sit and drink or eat with friends all together.
Parking is expensive and again, the hundreds of people everywhere you look is fine for those who like people watching. You are within walking distance to the Whalers Village (shopping area) and several popular restaurants. I believe there is also a shuttle that will take you there if not wanting to walk that far.
This would be fine for families with a teen or two who love the action of a huge resort but not for a couple like us who prefer a more quiet relaxing atmosphere with larger living spaces BUT for just one couple my feeling is it would be ideal as it is a lovely hotel bedroom with an extra bath, living room area and if lucky, some view from the small balconies that are through sliding glass doors from the bedroom and living room. .

Room Tip: Be sure to request, no insist on a room in a building not next to the huge construction going on nex...
