We just returned from our stay at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club. We stayed from June 28-July 5, and rented through a timeshare owner, our room was 9303 a 3 bedroom oceanfront villa in the Napilli tower. Our view was absolute perfection, room was spotless with a full kitchen, and supplies that were needed. The pools were wonderful, a large lagoon waterfall pool in the center, and smaller quieter pools on each side. The grassy area was also a nice break from the beach. The beach was nice, there was a less rocky area in the ocean right in front o Napilli tower. My son took surf lessons from the instructors right in front of the resort, and they were great with kids, unfortunately for some reason the fourth of July was their last day. This resort is in walking distance of The Whalers Wharf Mall, that has great restaurants. The only downfall of the resort is people saving chairs around the pool at 6:30 am and then not sit in them until noon, there are plenty of seats in other areas but not good spots to watch your kids in the main pool, unfortunately
there is no solution for rude people.

We arrived on July 4th and so the resort was EXTREMELY crowded. Our family consisted of two 50 somethings and teen age boys. Most of the families here had kids, more so under the age of 12 so if you are looking for quiet and restful lounge areas, you might want to go elsewhere.

We rented a two bedroom condo which was excellent and the best part of our stay. Condition was great and the service by the housekeepers was really great. We also enjoyed having access to a full kitchen and washer and dryer.

The main pool was very crowded upon arrival and the pool was not clean. Granted it was very busy and filled with people but the walls of the pool showed a grey build up of sunscreen on the walls which the little kids had carved their names into all along the sides of the main pool. Gross!

The pool had a fun slide , basket ball area, volley ball net and lots of hot tubs. Guess the cleanliness was a big draw back for us. After July 4th, which BTW they had lots of events for the kiddies, they resort settled a bit.

Food was typical for a Marriott...good not great. Service by pool servers was nice when you could find one but the people who handled the pool towels could take some lessons on customer service.

Admittedly, we just came from the Andaz on the other side of the island which is FANATASTIC...but if you are looking for a huge family resort then I guess Marriott Maui Ocean Club is for you. Our room was the best thing about this stay.

Room Tip: We choose a room which faced construction...we never care about the view and we aren't in the ro...

Thank you for your review of Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club. While we are happy you enjoyed your two bedroom villa and that it was the best part of your stay, we are sorry to learn the pool area and food did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the maintenance of the pool are greatly appreciated and will be shared with management at the resort. Thank you again for your review and for staying at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club.

We are Marriot owners at other resorts. We have traded here before and great stays. Staff is very unfriendly and some are down right rude. Person who teaches some of the crafts and uke lessons does not belong working with children let alone at a resort, she is just plain rude and nasty. Pool "nazis" make for a very unpleasant time relaxing at the pool. Resort has grown over the years and now is too big to be warm and welcoming like other Marriot properties. Best Hawaiian resort is Marriots Ko Olino on Oahu...wonderful staff, great experience.

I am a Marriott owner, but I usually trade into the Maui Marriott. I LOVE a groundfloor unit, but they are hard to come by. Great family destination, but sometimes I love to get away from all the kids. I am a lay in the sun and read all day Maui vacationer, throw in some salami, cheese, and wine and I'm so happy no one can ruin my day! When you stay here, scout out your favorite floors and units to stay in and request them. The restaurants are all good, but people, your in the Disneyland of Hawaii so OF COURSE its expensive. Grill some fresh fish or walk up to the Whalers Village for all sorts of restaurants and shopping. I have been on the brink of buying here for several years........ I love Maui and I love the Maui Marriott!!!

Room Tip: Add a couple of nights down in Wailea for a great extended trip! Ocean fronts are awesome but HOT i...

My family and I are here frequently. This is the only place we will stay when on the island of Maui.
The rooms are a regular size but the full kitchen and living room provide more visiting/sleeping space. Every view (ocean, mountain) is breath taking. The rooms are always clean upon arrival. We consider ourselves spoiled when we stay here.
The only minor complaint I have is the pools. To get a good seat in the shade you better expect to be down at the gate by 6:15am. And get in line. Otherwise plan on being in the sun. Also wear your flip flops from pool to pool because the pool deck is SCORCHING!!!! You will burn your feet.
I will end with my above statement.... We are spoiled when we stay here.

If you like high-rise hotels this is a good choice. The hotel grounds are very nice- with several pools to choose from. The room was comfortable, a bit small, but you don't spend much time inside. There are several choices on the spacious grounds for a casual breakfast or lunch. There is a walkway along the ocean that passes all the hotels- it's interesting to see the beautiful gardens and tropical birds you pass! A short walk away is Kaanapali beach and the black rock- great for seeing giant sea turtles.

We have been to Hawaii 4 or 5 times. The first time we went we stayed at Kihei and were
less than pleased with our accommodations. So even though we enjoyed some sightseeing
(e.g. Haleakala), we never went back to Maui on subsequent trips.

This time we stayed at the Marriott in Lahaina and we loved it. It's a great resort. The rooms
are well equipped and comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and you could find quiet areas
by one of the pools if you wanted to just sit and read.

It's also handy to walk to other resorts for eating and not too far for driving also.

Room Tip: We didn't pay for ocean front but ended up having a very nice view of the water as well as the...
