If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the Hawaii lifestyle, this is it. You can enjoy the fantastic view every morning while enjoying your coffee. You can also enjoy some of the best snorkeling in Maui. The sea life is abundant. Some places boast of having sea turtles. You might see one or two. Here you can snorkel with more than you can count. There are also eels and fish galore.

The property is very well maintained and the service from the staff is great. I can't wait for another chance to go there.

Room Tip: The upper floor condos are the best. It gives you a good view of the cove.

It was wonderful to be back at Honokeana Cove this year. We went to one other condo complex during repairs and it couldn't compete with Honokeana. It's like a home away from home for us. Su and Greg are very professional and friendly. We consider them friends.

We'll be back!!!!!!

Room Tip: All of the units are comparable. It depends on whether you have two or a family of 10 or more.

This is the absolute best place to stay in Maui. The condos provide a wonderful view of the ocean with sea turtles sticking their heads up every morning to say hello. Snorkeling with them is a blast. Our condo had all of the comforts of home and the staff was amazing. This has now become our yearly vacation spot. Aloha

Room Tip: I love staying in an upper room. I feel that i have a better view of the turtles that way. I would...

Honokeana Bay area is wonderful regardless which resort you stay in and the people in the area are wonderful and very friendly. Many people from the Honokeana Cove Condominiums would walk through the Napili Point Resort on their way to the beach and we were staying at the resort on the main floor and we would smile and say good-morning to them as they passed. When we went to the Honokeana Cove Condos to gain access to the Bay through a safer route than the rocky shore on Napili Point, we were met with a stern "no", access is not available unless you are staying at Honokeana Cove or are a guest. Although, the easy access is on the Cove property, it would be very nice to have access if you are staying at Napili Point Resort. We are not overly particular on where we stay in Hawaii and would choose either resort with confidence, both have their strengths definitely, but we were kind of disappointed with Honokeana Cove because of the bay access restrictions. Given that all beaches are public in Hawaii we were surprised by the limitations especially for a close neighbour whose property your tenants occupy to get to the Napili Beach. Also, the spot light that glares on your lawn towards Napili Resort is very bright and you may not be aware that it points to the Napili Resort 2nd floor and is quite annoying to some of their tenants (we met a nice couple on the 2nd floor that was very angry about the light).

Aloha,
Thank you for your comments regarding our property, Honokeana Cove. We would love to have you actually stay with us and experience what our return guests experience...."Aloha".
Our property is a private property and the gates are placed for security reasons. You are right about public access and that is why we are lobbying the County of Maui to provide a "user friendly" access on the easements that are already in place on either side of our property. All lighting on our property are for security and insurance liability.

My wife and I have been consistent guests of Honokeana Cove for over 11 years, There are so many positive attributes about the "Cove" that it's difficult to know where to begin. So, I thought I'd offer a string to provide the potential visitor some idea of the Cove Experience: "inviting, comfortable, scenic, serene, rejuvenating, slow paced, non-touristy, and private".

If you want to snorkel Honokeana Cove is, in my opinion, THE best spot on Maui. The Cove's reef is sheltered and is home to a huge variety of tropical fish and sea turtles (see the pictures of me and the turtles taken in 3/2014). In addition to snorkeling, the Cove is also a great place for paddle boarding, kayaking, and intermediate/expert surfers. The Cove also has a very nice pool and amazingly manicured grounds for folks who don't go in for ocean experiences.

We have stayed in many of the individual condos and have never been disappointed by the furnishings, kitchens, and decor. We like to eat breakfast and lunch on site and then head out for dinner to one of the many great restaurants in the area.

The Cove is great for couples and families. We have invited other couples to join us in our condo, and this has worked out well. If you prefer a "kid free" experience it's best to time your stay at times that don't overlap traditional school holidays. Even so, the Cove's "noise curfew" and culture of mutual respect means that extraneous noise is rarely an issue.

Lastly, this review would not be complete without mentioning the tireless and caring efforts of the Cove's management, maintenance, and maid services. Sue (the on-site manager) and Greg (the on-site maintenance man) have truly become friends over the years. I cannot recommend this location enough. In fact, my only reservation in writing this review is that it might increase the Cove's popularity and make it tough to make a future booking. Fortunately, we know where we want to be every year and therefore make our reservations for the following year shortly after we get home from our trip.

In addition to the pictures of the snorkeling, I've also posted some pictures I've taken of the Cove over the years. Happy vacationing. Honokeana Cove No Ka 'Oi!

Room Tip: These are individual condo units not a formal hotel, therefore the facility does not have a fitness...

We spent 2 wonderful, relaxing weeks at Honokeana Cove. The Cove is a very special place. It has everything you need inside the condo and a beautiful landscaped lawn and pool area. The barbecue grills by pool were used nightly by all the guests. The cove itself probably is the best snorkeling spot in Maui - the turtles are plentiful and easy to spot and there are tropical fish galore. It has easy access to the water. We have been coming to Maui for many years now and will only stay at the cove. The staff is exceptional, especially Su. They are always very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to be greeted by C.P. (gardener) every morning as we sat on our lanai drinking coffee and welcoming in another wonderful day at the cove. If you want a nice quiet and relaxing vacation Honokeana Cove is the place to stay.

We have been to Honokeana Cove many time over the last 30 years. We never get tired of going. Unit 217 has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, a nice living room area and a wonderful lanai to sit and drink your morning coffee. Whether you want to sit in the sun, read a book while listening to the ocean or be on the go from morning until night this is the place to be. There is no better place to snorkel than at the cove. You will always see sea turtles and countless number of fish. Going on day trips to see the other parts of the island can keep you busy as well. Honokeana Cove is NOT a high rise so you don't have lots of people. It is peaceful and calm and makes you feel like you are in old time Hawaii.

Aloha Beverly & John,
it is always a pleasure to have you back at Honokeana Cove. Even though you stayed in unit 217 which is not part of my rental program, you have stayed with me numerous times in many different units. Hurry back to the Cove soon and I will find you a comfortable unit to stay.
