“Like coming home!”
Reviewed 10 November 2011

We have been to the Royal Lahaina twice and stayed and in the cottages both times. It feels like you are in your own private bungalo. The staff is very friendly and the resort is beautiful. When we drove up to the entrance on the second trip, my husband's comment was, "It feels like we're coming home!" My favorite part is being able to go for long walks on the beach and on the walkways that connect the resorts. We will definately go back!

We reached the hotel at 11pm, and the staff was as courteous as it can get. They helped us with our luggage (most of the hotels in Hawaii do this), but it felt nice after a long flight from Roanoke, VA to Maui. Rooms were very clean and the housekeeping fellows do a fantastic job the next day to clean up all the sand :) Kudos to them

The restaurant in the hotel is very good and so is the dinner service. With live music and you can very clearly hear the ocean as these performances happen. Royal Lahaina is also home to the one of the two Luau's happen in Maui, so its very convenient to change after a days trip of sight seeing, come back relax and go for the evening Luau. They have a small private beach which is very well maintained

Located about 10mins from Lahaina Village its very nicely located to all the shopping, but for all the touristy stuff you could be a fair bit (20-25mins) away. But I wouldn't mind it, since the Drive is as good as it can get in Maui. 80% of the time you will not loose sight of the ocean.

All in all I would highly recommend this place, they made my stay pleasant. I am not sure why anyone would want to give it a 4 star. If you are a budget traveler but still want all the necessary facilities this one fits the bill..... You won't be disappointed to say the least.

Room Tip: Reserve the garden, more often than not they will upgrade you to the main building. Ask for a higher...

Beautiful property in a gorgeous location with a welcoming staff. They bring in local tradesman with arts and hand crafted souvenirs that are extremely reasonably priced (sometimes almost half the price I found at other locations). Full restaurant but my favorite delight was the coffee shop that had delicious ice cream! One of the best Luau's in town.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a partial ocean view. The hotel was designed so that many of the rooms on the sides...

Having visited Maui six years ago, we decided to try a different hotel to the one we stayed at in 2005 - The Royal Lahaina Resort. However, after much web searching and comparing facilities, location and price we ended up back at the Royal Lahaina Resort. We had no regrets; there had been changes but none were detrimental to our enjoyment of the resort. Being beach lovers we spent little time at the pools, except to use the lounges there between swims in the ocean. The staff were as pleasant as in the past. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and even though we only had garden view rooms we still managed glimpses of the ocean from our balconies. I would recommend shopping at Whalers Village and a wander through old Lahaina. Aloha.

My husband and I took a cruise before coming back to Maui and staying at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Upon arrival friendly bell hops greeted us to unload our luggage and later brought them to our room. At check in we were offered an upgrade for a nightly fee and it was well worth it. Our room was on the 11th floor and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. It was the most wonderful room we have ever stayed in. VERY clean, spacious and the full ocean view was breathtaking. We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and couldn't asked for a better place to stay. Everyone we spoke with at the resort was very nice and helpful from the housekeeping staff to the bell hops and from the front desk to the man giving out pool towels. We already started planning our next trip back to the Royal Lahaina Resort. Next time with the adult kids. Thanks again Royal Lahaina Resort and staff.

This was our 4th trip to Maui. We booked a package through Costco travel. We had a great time. The staff was happy and seemed to enjoy their customers. We went 10/27-11/2. The pools were nice the beach was just a few steps away our oceanview room was wonderful.Would come back again. We went to the luau and spent the extra few dollars for premium seating which was fun. We are luau junkies,we also did the sunset dinner cruise on the cat through Teralani which was awesomely fun. If you have the chance stay at the Royal Lahaina

Bell staff couldn't've been any nicer. The lobby seems clean but the cottage rooms are old, filthy(fingerprints, dust, old stickers,A HAIR ON THE BED! slow draining sinks,). The pillows are microscopic, linens inadequate and there is a complete dearth of electrical outlets! The shutters had a huge yellow streak of goodness knows what down the middle. I felt like taking a shower after entering, but that was unclean also. I just wanted out of there asap. I could go on and on...it's too bad the setting is so beautiful! What a wazte!
