Check-in was fast and efficient. We were given a free upgrade in room type, which was nice. The room was clean and comfortable and fit a rollaway for our son. On the downside, the carpet had seen better days. Our view was partially of the ocean but mainly of the roofs of the hotel shops. In summary, I’d say this hotel is a good value for money. We were away each day for excursions and didn’t really spend much time here for anything other than sleeping.

A fairly large Resort Hotel right on the beach. Everything was good - Staff, Restaurant, Shops. A nice little "Bakery" sells good breakfast items. Dinner in the main beachside restaurant was good food at good prices. Live music as well. We walked along the beach in both directions. Very nice gardens. Superb sunset. Our "Full Ocean View" room (upgraded) was really only "Partial Ocean View" but we did not complain - the room was very nice and we could see the ocean (just). Very lovely staff. Parking is a small problem, especially when lots of extra visitors arrive for the Luau, and if you arrive back a bit late in the day. It's a bit out of town but along a VERY nice strip of coast and close to nearby Lahaina, which is just an exquisite area.

Room Tip: Room with a Full Ocean View would be better, and also the higher up the better, I think.

We stayed in a cottage right next to the golf course. The walls are paper thin, so bring earplugs - we could hear the conversations of the people next door, and I'm sure they could hear our 2.30 and 3.30am alarms (sunrise tour and early flight!). Lovely views, rooms were very dated but comfortable - it was nice having our own patio and a spacious room. If you are going to stay in a bungalow, it may be worth asking for something close to the hotel - it rained while we were there, so getting wet too and from the lobby was inevitable given the fair distance.

Wifi was only available in the lobby (not even in the restaurant or by the pool) - it would be nicer if it could be available in all public areas.

The trolley (complimentary) drivers were absolutely lovely - a great service that took patrons to the nearby whalers village.

The pool was nice, the grounds were lovely, and the beach the resort is located on is beautiful.

Our trip to Hawaii was to celebrate our 30th anniversary and we chose the Royal Lahaina Resort. We were not disappointed. We stayed for six days in the Tower with a partial ocean view. The staff was attentive, friendly, and catered to our every need. The breakfast area was beautiful and we had breakfast overlooking the ocean every day. Their luau was top notch.

The grounds are well kept and the hotel lobby comfortable. This hotel made our trip well worth it and if we go back to Maui, this will be the place. Thank you to the staff at the Royal Lahaina resort for making our anniversary one to remember.

Oh! If you stay on the beach, don't forget to go to Maui MIkes for Shave Ice!!!!!

Comfortable, laid back, good service, helpful staff. Upgraded to a Ocean Front King Room on the 3rd floor above the restaurant. No noise even though we were close to the pool and restaurant area. Beach bar was good in the afternoons with $6 cocktails and live entertainment. Very relaxing. Bar and hotel in the restaurant had good food and drinks and also live entertainment each night. We were lucky enough to see many whales swim past from our balcony. Has a reasonably well stocked on site shop for if you just want to sit on the balcony or beach and do your own thing.

Room Tip: Set in wonderful grounds that are well maintained. Parking can be a little tight on luau nights but we always managed to find a spot. Guess we could have used valet parking if we hadn't been able to find anything.
